In the thread started by rosethecopycat, I read that Catmandu keeps his house at 68 degrees to save gas and encourage cat piling. Well, I keep my house at 58 degrees, (I'm wearing a parka and gloves as I type this) and I have yet to see any of the kids come into contact with each other. Maybe Gary really does glue his cats together.

LOL! Maybe your house isn't could enough yet to encourage that piling?

Brrrrr! 58*? I'd have to be in bed with the electric blanket on!!!

You did this on purpose to encourage a cat pile? Aren't we all just the nuttiest cat owners ever! :D

No, I keep it low because it costs less. The possibility of cat piling is just a bonus.

I confess I've thought of doing something similar. I feel lucky if all the cats are in the same room at the same time.

Pepper would love nothing more than to be a part of a cat pile. Unfortunately, neither Halo nor Cammie are so inclined.

You guys wouldn't believe what I do for mine.I suffer for their well being all the time.I have the heat up for them if their cold and and I also don't leave the central air on too cold if one has a cold.I suffer terribly in the heat.I even faint at times but I don't want to freeze my cats out :D
Totally dedicated to my cats.I've always been this way. When I was living alone many many years ago...I'd go to the vets before paying my rent.Always got the best quality food when couldn't even afford for myself  Crazy for cats I guess.I know I would of made a great mom.Too late now at 44 and my husband "fixed".But I have a lot of cats to keep me very happy.I accually would love to have 2 or 3 more

I think that the Found Cats would pile together not matter the temperature
as they pile even when its warm.
Heres a Summer Cat pile to prove my point.

They love each other with the Older Cats, JJJ3 and John Hancock to mentor them, and guide them.

My house is currently about 58 degress. and I NEVER set it above 62. I think I'd die if it was set to 68 -- too hot for me ;)

But my kitties have been cuddling a lot more lately. I love cold weather!!!!

I don't want to put the heat on because my cat got impacted anal glands and I had been running the heater. I was worried the humidity was too low and he had a just awful problem I never want to repeat! Luckily I live in Florida and we don't have very many cold days.

This is the closest I get to a cat pile :D

My girls could learn a thing or two from the Found Cats!

LOL!!!!! This is too funny. I don't know what your secret is Gary, but as you can see, we are very envious of your cat pile pictures. :D

Just love between our brothers and our sisters.
All over this land.
With Shemp Angel in the middle as always.

Since I have only 2 kitties, I guess you could call this my version of a cat-pile ;)

Maybe if I got behind the settee and pushed those two off the back, I would have a cat pile?!

You would have a brief and violent squall with cats flying in all directions. Cat piles cannot be forced!

Thank you for that excellent advice! :D I have no doubt that you are right.
What is the secret???

Gin

I have no idea what the secret is. Catmandu might know, but he isn't telling.

He says it is love, but how do you promote it??? My girls are a mother and two daughters. They love each other, they do, but they don't pile like the Found Cats!

My boys don't pile, either. Never did, probably never will, but they are best buddies and brothers. The closest they come to that is sleeping side by side in their little furry 'tents'. ;)
