Ginger,
You sure were a beautiful cat and it sounds like you had the purrsonality to match. I'm sorry your life was so short but it sounds like you had a good life with your family for the time you were with them. Congratulations on being cat of the day!

BIG TIME paw applause to your purrents for providing you with lots of loving in your too-short time with them. Most people can't be bothered with special-needs cats. You are such a pretty girl!

Ginger, your story left me in tears, so I can imagine how devastated your meowmie was when you made your journey to the RB. What a sweet, darling little girl you were, so full of love and hope.

I only pray that you are safe and happy at the bridge, watching over her. Reading about how you purred and snuggled just warmed my heart.

Sweet girl, play hard and remember your meowmie loves you very much.

You are a true COTD!

Awww - lovely fluffy girl! You always were a true angel - and so are your purrents who loved you and opened their arms to you, knowing your life was short.

How wonderful that you had happy and loving times!

Play hard at the Bridge, sweet Ginger!

My Crusty was a liver shunt kitty. The vets told me that, if I were lucky, I'd have her a year.

She was 11 when she died. She needed her food prepared specially and three times a day medications every day. She was worth it.

There's no cat in the world as sweet as a shunt kitty. It's as if they are given personality points to make up for their physical issues. Ginger looks like she was every bit as sweet as Crusty was.

There is no more beautiful furangel in heaven than you, precious Ginger. My heart aches and tears fall, reading your Mom's loving tribute to her beloved, baby girl. Your time on this earth was far too brief Ginger, but I take comfort in knowing that a soul as precious and deserving as you was loved unconditionally. The world needs more caring people like your Mom, those able to open their hearts to those creature in need so selflessly, so completely, with such devotion. Continue to look down upon her from heaven above precious Ginger, watch over her and comfort her with your love until that happy day you and she are reunited.
God Bless you sweet angel Ginger. We are privileged to honor your beautiful spirit, your courage, your legacy of love.

Such a sad, tearful story is yours, beautiful Ginger. :( Remember always that you were so loved and cherished and that your short life was spent with a kind, caring and devoted person. Please let her know in your own special way that you are now healthy and happy at the Rainbow Bridge. Cheek to cheek cuddles and purring to you, too, gorgeous Ginger angel!

Ginger is on the Beach on Cancun having the time of her life with all the Other Angels and Visitors.
She is the life of the party as she was when she was your Companion, and misses you as much as you miss her.
But she says that time will take care of things and that you will be her Companion in due time.
One Fine Day.
Shes having Steak Fajitas in your honor.

Your story left me in tears. Such a sweet cat. Ginger was just like my Bobo. So nice and cuddly. I'm so happy she got to live the best life ever. You could tell just by that story and description, she was the happiest cat ever. I know she's grateful for the wonderful home you gave her, even though it was such a short life. I know she is waiting up in heaven for you right now, watching over you and her family :). Congratulations on COTD, Ginger. May you rest in peace, sweetheart.

What a heartbreaking story, beautiful little Ginger. It sounds like your Pet Parent is just about the best thing going...how lucky you were to have them, even if just for a short time. It sounds like your time together was priceless. Your personality stretched for miles, and you certainly were gorgeous! Some cat people spend their entire lives wishing for a cat like you, and never find that one special cat...how wonderful that you and your person found each other. I'll bet you had an amazing 18 months together. A lucky cat, and a lucky person. God bless you both.

Ginger was such a beautiful kitty with a great personality. It is hard to let go of a kitty like Ginger, but you loved her too much to let her suffer. You gave her a wonderful life and she loved you in return. Ginger will always be a sweet memory for you. She is the perfect COTD and we honor her.

I agree completely with the previous writers. Ginger's is a very special Cat-of-the-Day story. Now I am more convinced than ever that there is a place in God's Heaven where our beloved pets wait for us. Bless you for taking such tender care of her.

I am so sad you had to lose your baby Ginger at such a young age. I don't know anything about liver shunt disease, but I do know about having to make a decision like you did. It is one of the hardest things in the world to do. We had to do it with our almost 16 year-old big fluffy Bebe. It has been three years this month and I still miss him so much, even though we had two others at the time, and have since added a blue Abyssinian to our family. Another cat can never take the place of one who has passed. They are all special for different reasons. Bebe didn't really do anything. He was your typical long haired and looked just like a Ragamuffin. The only time he played was on this brown chair and he would also box. To think about it is hilarious. He had big old paws that could really pack a blow. I still cry about him. We got him when our kids were 6 and 2. He used to love on our daughter's Cabbage Patch doll who had white hair just like her. No other doll would do. It was weird. Amy was his girl and he would sleep on her bed with her at night. I hope you can hold on to your memories of Ginger like I have with Bebe.
