Article here! (http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/15014860/) The prisoners socialize the dogs, and the dogs cheer up the prisoners and keep them from getting into fights. I went to copy the text of the article, but there was a notice at the end saying not to, so if the link's expired try googling "prison dog program."

I think these kinds of programs are fantastic. There are also ones you can send your dog to obedience classes with inmates to be trained.

I think it's a great experience and learning opportunity for both the inmates and the dogs. :)

They have a 'prison program' here where I live also. I think it is great. It helps the dogs get adopted and the prisoners are doing something really worthwhile. :)

We have a prison program here also. Another thing prisoners can do here is adopt cats as pets. They have to stay on leashes all the time, but from what I here the cats are really happy and well taken care of. I met a few at the vet.

I think that is wonderful. There is or was a show on Animal planet called cell dog and it was a show that had that. It was great!

I think it's a great program. We don't have one here locally, but we have a prison paws for humanity that is 2 hours away.
