So last night when I was IMing with my friend(who lives with a hubby, 5 dogs, and 3 cats) and her dog, Keagan, had a nasty case of diarrhea so she ended up calling it quits for the night. Well when I talked to a mutual friend this morning I found out that around midnight her Great Dane, Kiden, was puking and then a half hour later puked again. So she decided to check on her other dogs and when she got to her foster Saint Bernard, Dewey, he couldn't stand up! Kizmet, her doberman, ended up puking too. The only dog that wasn't sick was her puppy, Kwellen.

So they rushed all five to the emergency vet and found them all tested positive for antifreeze(except Kwellen). Now the thing is Jenn has NO antifreeze in her house. She thinks this guy that was threatening her and her husband poisoned the dogs because they called the cops on him.

UGH! I'm so worried about all of them, Kwellen should be coming home tomorrow if she still doesn't have anything wrong with her. But what I'm really worried about is Kizmet, he has a weak heart and a thyroid problem(all which he's on medicine for and seeing a cartiologist type vet). Please keep them all in your thoughts and prayers that everyone will be fine and make it through. Please also think about Jenn and Brandon because I know they are very stressed out about this. :(

They should report the guy. I just heard a story about a friend of a friend of mine who lost 4 out of her 7 dogs.

I hate to say it, but this is why dogs should never be unattended. :( Mine are not and NEVER will be allowed outside unless being supervised and watched.

That is absolutely horrifying. I can't believe someone would do that. Are they sure it wasn't leaking from the car? It's strange you said that..we had a chihuaha come in that was pretty much in a coma, the lady didn't speak much english, just kept saying, "dirty wata from da ca". We finally figured out it was antifreeze...poor thing, had drank it yesterday afternoon, over 10 hours before. She plopped down $500 cash and asked us to try to save him.

Although he did pass away, the dog weighed 4lbs and had drank a whole puddle of it 10 hours ago. He probably had a 5-10% chance of survival. If the dogs were bigger...they got rushed to the vet...and maybe they didn't ingest TOO much...hopefully they will pull through. I definately think they could.

I will keep them in my thoughts. :(

How tragic! :(
Your friend will, without a doubt, be in my thoughts. I don't even want to begin to think of how it must feel.. to have to rush all of those dogs to the vet.

My aunt's st. bernard mix died late last year due to an angry neighbor of theirs that wanted revenge for a minor dispute that went on between them and my aunt. The neighbors poisoned the dog.
Hoping your friend's dogs will be able to pull through. Like mentioned, they all are bigger dogs, right? If they didn't ingest too much, they have a greater chance of pulling out of this alive.

When mine are outside I am out there with them for the fear that my evil neighbors will do something like this!!
People make me SICK!!
I hope the pups all make a full recovery! :(
{{Hugs}} and prayers to them all!

I will pray your friends dogs will all be ok. That guy should be poisoned if he was responsible. I too never leave my pups out unattended and I walk all around the yard looking for anything my loser neighbors could throw over the fence. They are druggies and we have had our problems. The mother has dogs and I doubt she would try anything, her daughter however is the devil himself. Teaching dogs the 'leave it' and 'give' commands are helpful also, if you do see them pick something up. Please keep us updated on how the dogs are doing.

From what I heard Kwellen and Keagan are coming home today, Kiden and Dewey are staying there, and Kizmet is going to a specialist. Thank you for your prayers.

Oh no! That's awful. I hope the person that was threatening them did not poison their dogs, because that would be horrible! Is there any news on how they were sick? They're definetley be in my prayers and I hope they get well soon. Poor dogs!
