Marty was attacked by one of the big dogs. We don't know which one for sure, but it's very nasty. His back is split open and he'll need stitches for sure! Keep the poor guy in your thoughts. I think it was Maggie but I think it was Dudley that triggered it. It's kind of hard to explain but either way. It may be best to rehome Dudley so that this won't happen again. Dudley will be happier and so will Maggie and Marty. :( I feel horrible, I wish I could have prevented it...

His pic is down a ways, I didn't think everyone would want to see it.

edit:
Ok here's a pic of his back. :(

Marty has been at the vet since about 7:00 am now and he'll probably be there for two days. I hope everything goes alright. :(

That is pretty bad, but, I'm sure he'll be fine, and, back to his old self in no time at all. My RB boy, Bruno, was ten when he was attacked by another, much larger dog, and, he made a full recovery. His injuries appeared to be worse than what Marty experienced, too, so, maybe that will help ease your mind. Dogs are resilient and I'm sure he's in good hands.

The yorkie I had when I was a kid was attacked by the neighbor's dobie and he made a full recovery too. He had stitches and a drainage tube in his side, but he was back to normal in no time. I'm sure Marty will be feeling better soon.

I'm sure he'll be fine. As finn's mom said, dogs are resilient. My RB Chihuahua, Tinker, stupidly attacked a Boxer when he was around 12 and he was fine in no time, though he did spend over a week at the vet and we spent a lot of money to get him well.

Poor baby. :( How is he doing today? Dont blame yourself, stuff like this happens when you own multiple dogs sometimes. Mine have gotten into it a couple of time its no fun when it happens.

I wish I knew.. we're still waiting for a phone call from the vet.

Anyways so I'm almost positive it was Dudley now. Dudley attacked our foster puppy, Lilo, this morning and my dad told me that he did late last night too. She's not hurt but it did scare the crap out of her.

If Dudley is dog aggressive, it may be best to find him a home without dogs and him as the only pet. you wouldn't want this to happen again. I am not saying it's your fault. :) accidents happen and I hope he'll be okay. (((Marty))) I am wishing Dudley the best of luck.

OMG, poor Marty :( Don't blame yourself, I know it must be hard to have multiple dogs, and sometimes there are things you can't just prevent.
I will keep Marty and also Dudley in my thoughts.

Yes we are getting rid of Dudley, my mom told me last night he's not staying here anymore.

But the hard thing is, we kept Dudley because we couldn't find a home for him, he's just a foster without a home in other words. So, now that he's proven he's dog aggressive it'll probably be even harder... he can't go back to the HS. He proved already he doesn't do well there.

Marty's home! First thing I did when I came home was run to his crate and he was there! :D I was so happy to see him I even let him kiss my face(which is a big no no) but this poor guy deserves to be spoiled!! He has to wear a cone and has a drain in his back now but it looks so much better stitched up, I'm so glad to see my baby bo home!!

OMG! Poor Marty. I hope he heals well.

I'm a big advocate for not re-homing pets, but this situation is completely different. The safety of you, your family and your pets comes first. I'm sorry that you have to find a new home for Dudley. Sometimes things just can't work themselves out.

Prayers for Marty going out. I hope you can find the perfect home for Dudley, too. Some dogs just do better when they have the humans all to themselves. It's good that you took him in as a foster, at least you can tell people about this and find the right kind of home. Are you going to keep him separated till then?

Poor Marty, I hope you're back to 100% very soon! Having multiple dogs is tough, what happened isn't anyone's fault. Best of luck finding Dudley a family where he can be a single dog.
