I feel so stupid getting help on this, but it is driving me CRAZY. We had a test today in one of my math classes, and we got this stupid worksheet that seemed SO easy. :p

Here's what we have to do...

Using the integers -1, -2, -3, and -4, write expressions that equal the numbers at the right. You may use four operations of addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division, as well as grouping symbols. You must use each number once in each expression.

I've done most of them, but I still need the equations to add up to: -9, -7, -6, -4, -3, 2, 8, and 10. Help on any of them would be greatly appreciated!!

Whoops, saw that each number has to be used. Not just a few of them..that makes it more difficult.

(-1 * -2) x (-3 - (-4)) = 2

(-2 + -4) + (-1 - (-3)) = -4

(-1 + -4) - (-2 - (-3)) = -6

(-2 + (-4)) - (-3 / -1) = -9

(-2 - (-3)) - (-4 * -1) = -3

(-3 + -1) * (-4 - (-2)) = 8

(-3 + -4) * (-1 - (-2)) = -7

I think

   (-3 x -4) - (-1 x -2) = 10

   Karen made me do it.

These are the tables that I made to try and get this to work:

Then I just moved through the columns until the proper number could be made with either addition, subtraction, multiplication, or division.

And that's why I love excel...but the same tables could have been written out by hand if needed.

I think all of those should be accurate, but I'll leave a disclaimer that it needs to be checked ;)
