My husband JoJoe is scheduled for his debrib implant on Friday morning. Please keep him in mind/prayer. Should not be any complications, everything else checked out fine - no artery disease, heart is very strong. Just this annoying diagnosis of "high risk for sudden death" :rolleyes:

Shucks, I guess this cancels our regular Friday pizza "date". :)

I will definately be thinking of you and JoJoe this Friday.

I am positive that he will be fine, yet, I know exactly how you feel right now. Why does that percentage of risk scare the snot out of us?

I will take big breaths on Friday and will Pray that all goes well!!!!!!

Preayers are on the way for your husband. I hope he will be back to his old self (if you want him back to his old self :p ;) ) in no time.

If it's not too personal, what is with that diagnosis if his heart is fine? I ask because, as you know, my mom is going through a lot of heart tests too.

You both will be in my thoughts and prayers!
Yeah... I think this qualifies as a "good excuse" for canceling your Friday night Pizza date! :p

Maybe you can just reschedule that pizza for another night;)

Thanks, I'll pass on all the good wishes. It is a quick procedure, but the doctor said that "by law", patients have to stay overnight. We get pizza every Friday from a town about 20 miles from here, so I'll pass since he'll be in the hospital, but he did make me promise to sneak him in a big Wendy's Frosty. ;)

Lots of prayers and good wishes coming JoJoe's way. Is he having the surgery in Findlay?Yup! Findlay has a very good heart surgeon (he moved here last year, wife's family is in Tiffin).
Lady's Human - Thanks for the tip on the nurses ;) - I'll keep an eye out! Maybe if I hide it in a plain brown bag, she won't notice? :cool:

Will be keeping JoJoe in our prayers, Pat! If you need anything let us know. However, I would rather not drive to Tiffin to get your pizza for you tomorrow night. My parents live there and they would be upset if they knew I came to town and didn't stop to see them. LOL.

Thanks for all your prayers, everyone. Everything went well, I stayed till I could "feed" the patient (no, it wasn't pizza) and will go back in few hours. He's in a cardiac unit, so the visit times are very short. Isn't it cute when guys are all helpless, drugged up & groggy? ;) I'm sure he'll sleep all day. I'll bring him home tomorrow.
Turned out he had occasion to travel to our favorite pizza place Thursday, so we got to eat pizza together this week after all! :D Going back to smuggle in that Frosty later. :cool:

THANKS, God - for the "everything went well" part!

Did they Turn it ON, yet?
Test it?

Prayers for a Quick Recovery!

Did they Turn it ON, yet? Test it?:)Yes, his doctor said they set it off to test it. He doesn't remember anything, which is probably good. The only question I had before this procedure was "is there anything to be careful of so it doesn't go off accidently?". They said no, they program the computer chip in it especially for his data. They did say to avoid powerful magnets, and "NO MRI's, the magnetic field in those will try to suck it right out of your body!" :eek:

The only question I had before this procedure was
"is there anything to be careful of so it doesn't go off accidently?".

They said no...

:rolleyes:

They ALL seem to LIE about that ...
Friend got a PaceMaker installed ... when she was LEAVING the Hospital ...
they gave her an "Informational Briefing" and a book ...

"Things You'll No Longer Do ..."
* Drive a car for 3-6 months (might tear the leads out of position)
* Operate a chain saw (didn't bother Shirley too much)
* Hold you cell phone to your Left ear
* Be careful around Airport Security / Metal Detectors
* and a Lot of other "little things" ...

She was kinda *pi$$ed* that nobody had ever "mentioned" these things BEFORE
the procedure was done. :mad:

Be sure you know (they should give you a wallet card)
* Who the Manufacturer is
* Device Model Number
* Device Serial Number

Get on the I-net and find the Manufacturer's web site - thay all have one -
then sign up for their Info Packet on JoJoe's particular Model.
They'll probably feed you more information than you Doctor will.

Also watch for Safety & Recall or Service Bulletins - doctors usually don't pass along
any but the most serious "warnings" - they don't wanna "scare" the patients.

Glad to hear things went well. It's also nice that Findlay has brought in a surgeon for such things. Seems like it used to be anything slightly serious you had to go to Toledo, Columbus or Cleveland becuase FIndlay didn't have the experts. So much easier when you can stay in town!

He's home now! The pups sure were glad to see their dad again! :D He couldn't get any sleep in the ICU last night, too noisy, and along with the pain meds, he's pretty tired. Phred, we've got the necessary info and I will bookmark the company's home page...just in case. Thanks for the tips. I read through his booklet, not too many restrictions, saws are ok (makes him happy cause he loves t build things), but no more jackhammers. They said he shouldn't set anything off in airport security, but he refuses to fly these days anyway. :rolleyes: Got to pick him up a medical bracelet or necklace in case of emergencies. We thank everyone for their prayers.
