A sanctuary in Bakerfield, California has shut down and has over a hundred dogs (some in poor condition) that need to be rescued or adopted by the end of the month.

Please, if you're in the area, contact rescues, talk to friends, or offer to help transport.. crosspost this!! These dogs need out!!

omg! I sure hope not! :( I hope they all can get rescued. there's so many beautiful dogs there and they all deserve to get rescued just like any other dog in this world, and cats, and any other animal for that matter.

I have no idea what has happened with the sanctuary, other than what was posted on the site I crossposted from.

I can't believe they could suddenly close while they still had the dogs.

I'm terribly confused.. What sanctuary is this? I'm in the Bay Area so I can definitely try to fit some of these dogs up here but more information would be welcome. It's a shame. There must be at least 50 dogs in danger =[

I was on the Germanshepherd.com board a day or so ago, a rescue has closed down and they have a lot of dogs of different breeds that need homes. There are some labs and three lab/chow boys. I would of loved to take those three Alpha, Beta and Gamma; but my mother refuses to allow me any pets, except my two fish in my tank. Or I would keep Alpha and Gamma and find Beta a home.

Anyways, here is the info.

Bakerfield, California is where the rescue is located. Im not sure about transport. The email is in the upper right corner provided with the link. If you can help pull these dogs, even a few please let me know. If you know someone doing a pull and resuce in another shelter in CALF, please let me know. I know someone on another fourm who is interested in Bobby, #46a/b (different photos but of the same dog, some are lik that, so Im unsure how many need to go).

Please tell me if you can help, they ONLY have until the end of the month to find a home or a rescue willing to pull them. Some are not fixed, or have shots. But, the three boys are all fixed and I guess they are brothers?? and they need shots. If you can help my friend who wants Bobby, please let me know. She is looking for transport, I will find out what state she is in.

Original post here (http://www.lab-retriever.net/board/showthread.php?t=76950).

You can email the sanctuary at [email protected]

looks like a lot of BC mixes and Boxer/ pitties. Are they closed for good or just to taking new animals until they find homes for the over full kennels? I'm over my limit now wish i could help .

That's REALLY odd.. I don't understand why this sanctuary isn't receiving any help from local shelters  At any rate, I'm e-mailing the info to a couple shelters. I hope they mean BakerSfield, too, because that's the shelter I'm e-mailing =P

Aww, I love 007! =[ I wish I lived closer. But I do have friends & relatives in SoCal, it couldn't hurt to ask if they're looking for a dog or willing to foster.

I do hope lots of rescues step in. What an amazing "sanctuary" that is
