The shelter where I had volunteered when I was unemployeed suffered a tragic loss recently. One of the girls that worked there and provided foster care for shelter animals was murdered last week. :(

I didn't know Annie very well, but this whole situation is extremely sad. It's really scary what people are capable of, especially when they are supposedly someone you love/care about/live with.

Our local newspaper has set up a guest book for people who knew Annie to come and sign, and as I was reading through it I was really brought to tears. What a tragic loss...:(

Please keep her family and friends in your prayers.

Rest in peace, dear lady. She'll surely get a huge welcome at the Rainbow Bridge.

That is so terribly sad. The only good thing about this is no money will be wasted on a trial for the scum that killed her. I love it when justice is freshly served.

This is so sad.:( I've been working late so I never heard about this. Starr's foster mom worked with this shelter and has since moved to Arizona. My thoughts are with her and her family. May she rest in peace.:(

Thanks everyone. It is indeed a huge loss to our little shelter. I was just in there a couple of weeks ago, and Annie was working the front desk that day. :(

Here is the latest from Ava about Annie:

How sad. Her poor family, at least they know he got what was coming to him. Not much consolation, but they won't have to see him go to trial and get off on some technicality or be a leach on the system for the next umpteen years.

I agree with Karen, I'll bet she received a huge welcome at the Rainbow Bridge.
