The Department of Parks has now officially closed Lake Edward for the summer.

The board decided to close the lake after the latest casualty on Labor Day.

A man was injured as he walked the shores of the lake.

He bruised his heel, cut the foot and has been off of work for one week.

It was deemed necessary to keep the public safe and the board from being sued.

So far the cost to the board has been 5 dollars for a doctor's visit.

----------------------------

A meeting will be held to see if the board will open the lake next year.

(they really should make those "guests" more safety aware of their surroundings! )

Does this mean Eddie has to go a year without a drink of water?

He has had to put up with me for a week, that is enough punishment.

At Least Edward Has Not Learned The Tick Of Turning The Faucet Just Enough So They Get A Trickle Of Water, And Knock The Water Rates Up.

Ditto.

How many beautiful natural settings have been closed off to humans because some clutz wasn't paying attention and tripped and fell. :p ;) :D

Sorry you got hurt, Richard. Peanut does the same thing in the bathroom with her water bowl. Fortunately I have a rug right there that conveniently soaks up most of the water.....so I step on a soggy rug every morning....better than tripping on a wet floor though I suppose. ;)

I usually step on the rim of the bowl with my toes and the bowl flips up and wets my feet.
THis time I planted the foot inside the dish.

I bruised my heel and somehow cut my foot.

it was a small cut be it got infected anyway.

This is the first day my foot has felt normal!

I think that Ed just wanted me to stay home...

That's what it was, a ploy to make you stay home and keep him company!

(maybe that's what I need to do, to get a week off of work! ;) )
