I would like to take a moment to post about Honey the ferret.
Honey was my parents ferret. She had one ferret sister who passed away almost two years ago.
Honey caught my moms attention as she looked like a reverse skunk. White with a big black stripe down her back! However, she had a spunky personality and that is why she went home with her. :D She soon outgrew her stripe but never outgrew the love.
We had a lot of fun with Honey bunny. She was not fond of her baths but she had her revenge by kicking up litter when we put her back in her area. She went swimming in the tub and was fond of knocking over trash cans and terrorizing the pups by chasing them, and they ran from her! She liked to be put in the laundry tubs only to jump out of them again. She would do the sideways hop and "kook" all over the place! She LOVED to chase people and give your feet a little taste test. ;)
She was a PIGGILY WIGGILY. She *LOVED* to get her occasional honey comb snack or her little bite of chicken jerky.
Honey used to shed excessively and would get a naked tail and butt.
My brother cleaned her litter box a couple of days ago. He also fed her. She had not eaten and pottied since then. She had been kind of listless, which is HIGHLY unusual for a ferret who is so joyous and active, for these days too. My mom decided to take her into the vet. She wrapped her in a towel, and put her on a pillow in her lap where she just sat there and didn't care if you touched her.
Mom made the decision to have Honey sent to the Rainbow Bridge today. Surely she is playing with Mimi, Bilbo, and RedRed (rescued ferret siblings) hard! I wouldn't be surprised if she was playing with her cat and German Shepherd friends, as well. She was five.
Rest in peace, sweet Honey. We love you and will always miss you.
