My mom said she saw this dog a week ago on the road, and yesterday he was laying around the dog kennels. Today he is very friendly, (he spent the night around the dogs) and looks like he may have been dumped or ran away :( . The pup gets along with Tucker, they're laying on the deck right now. He is very dirty and covered with burrs, and has really long claws. We gave him a little food, and he's a sweetheart...any ideas on what breed he has in him? I think he might have a little Samoyed in him, am I wrong? Since we already have 3 dogs, should I take him to our animal shelter? Thanks!

He looks like a Golden or a Husky cross or something.

Poor thing.

Nice that you're helping him.

If you can't keep him for a few days (long enough to put up flyers and an ad in the local paper), I would bring him to a shelter. The dog may have a microchip.

Good luck & keep us posted!

Looks like a pyrenees mix to me. :) Maybe pyr/husky? Very cute! Good luck!

Aww, poor thing! Looks like she needs a nice bath and grooming session.
About the shelter thing... have you thought about keeping her? She looks like such a sweetie...
If not, I suggest the Humane Society, not the shelter. Or you could even try giving her a home yourself? You can make and add on Petfinder...

Exactly what I was thinking! A Pyrenees/Husky mix.

chow lab

I have to disagree with those two breeds. See the light mask around the face? I see Husky there. Although a Chow/Lab/Husky is a possibilty.

Currently, he looks like a pure pyrenees.

Since we already have 3 dogs, should I take him to our animal shelter No!!!Of course not, whats ONE other dog:D

He is adorable!!! But yes very dirty.
I hope you can keep him. Hed be a adorable new addition and Kona would have someone his own age to frolic with.
I agree with IRescue I think he looks pure Pyranese

See the mask?

And this looks like the puppy found except whiter and without the mask.

I was thinking Great Pyr/Husky or pure Pyr as well. Because Pyrs aren't very common, I would hold onto the pup and post "Found" flyers around the county. You might also want to contact Pyr rescues and see if they have any leads as to who the pup may belong to. One things for sure, he is ADORABLE! I would pick him up in a heartbeat!

It doesn't matter what breed this pup is, what matters is that he should
be cleaned up & seen by a Vet. It's obviously a very young dog & should be
with people to care for him & keep him safe.No more wandering around and
getting into all kinds of trouble.Looks very sweet. If you can't keep the dog,
take him to a shelter.

I'm thinking all Pyr. right now. It's a beautiful pup, regardless of heritage. I'd hold onto him for a while. Post flyers and see if he's microchipped. If you can't find the owner and don't feel capable of handling another dog, then oyu might want to check into a Pyr. rescue or perhaps search out a home yourself? Best of luck to you and the pup in the adventure of finding his home. Hope we get to see more of him, no matter what the outcome. ;) :)

I agree with the Pyrenes mix - he's too light in build and small of feet to be a purebred, but the face is all Pyr! Maybe Pyr/Golden, but not sure what the rest of the mix is!

A good bath and brushing, toenails clipped and a week of food, and he'll be a beauty!

Thanks for the replys! Yes, I can for sure see Pyrenees in him. I've tried to brush him out, and hopefully soon I can give him a bath. He hangs around Tucker a lot, and has pretty much layed on and around the deck since I posted this thread. :)
