Until a few weeks ago, Bandit would sleep with my daughter and Jeffrey with me. For some unknown reason, they switched. Bandit now sleeps with me. Every morning around 4:30 I wake up and just lie in bed, sort of meditating (or cursing another day of work http://PetoftheDay.com/talk/smile.gif) before I get up at five. Bandit wakes up when I do and burrows UNDER the covers. He crawls under and rests his head on my stomach or in the crook of my arm. It's almost like he's saying "No, I don't want to get up! Don't turn on the light!" He sleeps on top of the covers until that time. I've never heard of a dog doing this. It's become our cuddle time, complete with all of his adorable sighs, grunts and snorts. I had to share this because I think it's so sweet. Jeffrey always wakes up giving big, wet kisses, (which I love) but this is such a more calming start to my day!

What a nice way to start to wake up with a cuddle from Bandit! Dogs are probably not so different than we are when it comes to loving a cuddle now and then and grabbing a couple of extra winks in the morning. http://PetoftheDay.com/talk/smile.gif Genia you know I love hearing stories about your little Bandit pugster! He sounds so precious! http://PetoftheDay.com/talk/smile.gif

Tucker is an under the covers cuddler too. He can't seem to get close enough. I have to change positions several times before I go to sleep so our routine has become one of him under the covers cuddling real close, either incased in my arm or flat against my back (with me on my side) or in the crook of my legs (with me on my side). Once I start changing positions too much, we both decide it's time for him to jump out to his doggy bed right aside of my bed. When I wake up in the morning; however, he is back under the covers snuggled up close to me. I can't quite figure out how he gets under there without me waking up and lifting the covers up for him. Maybe I do it in my sleep.

Genia, you are right on target, it is so calming to cuddle with your dog. Too bad doctors don't prescribe this.

Dogs are truely the best medicine for ones sole.
Rocky and Pepper are cuddlers too.
Pepper in the morninig will crawl and snuggle under our necks for kisses.
Rocky is not allowed on the bed, but
it doesn't stop him from pouncing on us in the morning to wake us up for attention.
I sometimes will lay on the floor with him, using him as a pillow, wrapping my arms
around him to watch T.V.
For a clumsey big goof, he can be so gentle.

Genia,

I swear our pugs were seperated at birth!!! Graham is sweet and lovable and cuddly, but Cassie is an under-the-cover snuggler also http://PetoftheDay.com/talk/smile.gif She's the first dog that I have had that has done that, too. In the morning before we get out of bed, she (when she's not under strict cage rest http://PetoftheDay.com/talk/frown.gif ) hops up onto the bed and proceeds to worm her way under the covers. It's then that she lays her head on my chest or tummy or arm and falls asleep. She's like a heating pad. She's the warmest little bundle http://PetoftheDay.com/talk/smile.gif If she's under the covers for more then 1/2 hour though she starts to pant, and that's pretty loud http://PetoftheDay.com/talk/smile.gif So, do you think our pugs were seperated at birth now???? http://PetoftheDay.com/talk/biggrin.gif

Pugs truly are so sweet and cuddly. I am so glad we got Cassie. I am so grateful for her. I know you feel the same way about Bandit.

My animals all act differently in the morning. My terrier, Harley, will dig in my blankets to try to wake me up. If that doesn't work, he'll get about an inch away from my face and just stare at me. If that doesn't work either, he'll start to lick my nose and eyes. By then, I usually give in and get out of bed. Reece, my poodle I just got a week ago, will just sleep as long as I do. He's always by my side and wants to do whatever I'm doing. He is the king of snuggling in this household. Harley would much rather drag me out of bed and throw squeak toys at me. My cat will wake up and jump off my bed when my alarm goes off. She will also attack my hand when I push snooze. Then she gets back in bed and goes to sleep for 10 min until the alarm goes off again. She'll jump back down and attack my hand or the clock again. One time she turned off my alarm before it woke me up. I had a hard time explaining to my professor that I was late because my cat turns off my alarm http://PetoftheDay.com/talk/smile.gif

Daisy is the most spoiled dog ever. When she was a puppy, it was easy to carry her upstairs and plop her in my bed. However she now weighs 50 pounds (more than half of me) and nothing has changed. I am still forced to carry her upstairs, and if I don't, she will sit at the bottom on the stairs and howl! Spoiled brat http://PetoftheDay.com/talk/smile.gif Then I toss her on the bed on her own side, complete with her own pillow. Does she use it? No. By the time I get into bed from brushing my teeth and washing my face, she's snuggled under the blankets on my pillow. I usually fall asleep hugging her or on my side with her nose at my neck. She's quite the cuddler! I don't think I can fall asleep without the sound of her loud breathing next to me, not to mention the sweet aroma of Frito feet! Daisy also hates the alarm clock that goes off at 5:30 AM and moans until I shut it off. Then she goes back to sleep, lucky dog that she is! Except on weekends, the only days I can sleep late, when she feels the need to wake me to have me let her out at 7 http://PetoftheDay.com/talk/smile.gif Go figure! I agree, sleeping with your dog is so relaxing!

Adore, I agree! They definitely are alike. To think I almost didn't take Bandit because I thought Jeffrey was enough! He is the sweetest! I think my boys are the perfect together. Jeffrey is my running, rough and tumble buddy and Bandit is my cuddle buddy. http://PetoftheDay.com/talk/smile.gif

I think it's so funny that Aly's Harley does exactly what my Cody does! Even when I'm dead asleep, I can feel those big brown eyes STARING at me. When I don't move (by this time I'm up, eyes peeking, trying not to laugh)he'll take a step forward, give a little "ruff", then go up to my face and kiss my eyes and nose! On ocassion when he has to pee in the middle of the night, he'll do the same thing. There is no way I can get angry- it is SO clever and cute. Cody was never permitted to sleep in bed with me (too big to share a single( but will jump on the bed after I get up. When I lay on the floor, he definitely is a cuddler too! Big and brawny and strong and I just love wrapping my arms around his thick neck. Very comforting after a rough day. Just seeing him at 5am and after work and knowing he's with me all night, is so theraputic! I even think "Cody" means "cushion!!!!!!" http://PetoftheDay.com/talk/biggrin.gif http://PetoftheDay.com/talk/biggrin.gif http://PetoftheDay.com/talk/biggrin.gif
