How about a hot water heater...if it's hot water, why does it need more heating?

LOL,

Having installed a few i never thought about that!

------------------

Why, on GOD'S GREEN ACRE,
Does a stupid kid need an iPod for going back to school?

And why does a kid need an laptop?

"I don't want my child to be left behind..'

You are just making it easier for him to NEVER have to search for information.

He can just cut and paste other people's work onto his paper.

That will give him more time for MySPace, downlaoding music and those groovy porn sites that all the kids are emailing to each other.

New pet peeve are the hundred calls a day I'm already getting from the upcoming election. Why do the pollers get to call people on the "do not call list"? It seems the powers that be made a law protecting us from annoying telemarketers, with the grand exception being that their pollsters call me to find out my opinion on such-and-such candidate... they made sure they'd be able to harass us in our homes.

Its not enough they flash their grins on the TV screen but now they call me personally (via a personally recorded message) or their friends do (James Earl Jones "calls" me a lot!)

well, actually I work for a market research firm and we must have better lobbyists because yes, its true, the "do not call" rules don't apply to us.

its actually kind of interesting how political ads can be formulated based on the answers to the polls - but that's a topic for a different thread -

as for pet peeves - I can't think of a saying right now but I do have an office peeve -

I get really annoyed when someone opens a new ream of paper to fill the printer, but just tears it open half-way instead of removing the entire wrapper.

its like fingernails on a chalkboard

Just don't tell Aaron! ;)

Here is my peeve.

THe yellow plasic tape that people put over their turn signals after they get broken.

We can send man to moon, and lose the tapes, but they can't get a nice amber tape for the poor shmucks that have to drive around with a busted turn signal?

Why do they call it a "BUS PASS" when the bus stops and picks you up?

Why not call it a "Bus get on"?

I have never posted about peeves before, but I have a really big one
now. The waiting on a call back.I'm now on the 2nd day of waiting to get
a migrane medication refill authorized by my Dr to the pharmacy. The Drs.
office & I have been playing phone tag the entire time. I am sure
going to need the pills by the time this gets straightened out.

The other call back I'm waiting on is from my insurance adjuster. After days
and days of calling to see when the adjuster would be coming to my house,
I finally reached someone & the lady promised to be here either Tues or Weds
of this week. No body came & nobody called. I am trying to maintain
a calm attitude about this, but I am getting so po'd I feel like screaming.

I HATE having to wait for a call back.

Peeved about the theories about 9/11.

I watched the 'mockumentary' about 9/11 and was simultaneously amused and ticked off.

The thing that made me laugh was the voice on the show and the assertion that there were explosives in the WTC (not to mention all the edited blurbs presented as 'facts')

At the end of the tape there are slow motion clips of "puffs of smoke" represented as 'bombs' used to bring the towers down.

If the moron had done his homework he would know that the puffs of smoke were window blowing out from the pressure built up in the building.

Modern skyscrapers are 'airtight' to make the HVAC systems leak proof. One reason that there are no windows to open in hi rise buildings.

As the top floors began to pancake, the air pressure built up in the bottom floors and the air pressure simply found the weakest area to escape.

I didn't even watch the thing. IMO, if one wants to dramatize events around the attacks, please interpret them as accurately as possible.
