Anybody on this forum that is/was from down south that was affected by Hurricane Katrina?
I just had a meeting with a co-worker who was in New Orleans for a conference. She tells me the place is still in ruins. She says that Ward 9 where one of the levees broke is still a total mess - houses knocked off their foundations, cars smashed by falling trees or poles, cars turned upside down. And they just found skeleton remains of a woman in a home that was destroyed by the hurricane - after almost 1 year!
I just can't believe that after 1 year that mess is still there. I just feel so bad for those people who lost everything.
I didn't ask my co-worker if she saw any animals because I was too depressed & upset.
