Dugansdad and I are empty nesters as of today!!! Got the daughter and grand baby moved into their trailer with hubby. and 22 year old son moved most of his stuff in with a couple buddies. Oh boy I now can have the room with the huge closet (runs 3/4 of the upstairs of the house. I have been having to use 2 closets in two rooms up stairs. Yahoo it's quiet here now.

No trips to shelter 2newfies and a very enthusiatic boxer and 3 kitties also one very old rabbit(17yrs) are enough. Yes I'm inheriting a 12year old simease from the daughter they feed her crappy food and can't understand why she sheds so. I 'll be posting pics later.

No I don't think so. I am a sucker for older pets most of mine do die of old age , Merlin was the exception but just couldn't let him hurt any more.

Yay! That's so great!
My in-laws are in that "can't get the kids out" boat too. Hopefully one day they will be as lucky as you and have a house to themselves. My husband has 2 younger sisters who both moved out and then moved back. One of them moved back with her husband and baby.

That must feel wonderful!

Just when we were starting to smell freedom with the second kid heading off to college, she has a baby and is cemented here for a long while (not that I'm complaining since the baby is an awesome addition.... but the freedom was within reach! :p)

Congratulations! Enjoy the "peace" - as much as the bouncy boxer will let you, of course!

Funny you should metion that bouncy guy. I now will have more time with him. cut down my work hours to baby sit grand baby so I'll have more time to train him for agility. I think that should burn off the excess. I hope!!!

I have to laugh because I just watched Failure to Launce and it's about a 35 year old man still living at home. At one point all the parents who have kids living at home get together for a bbq and one couple says their son finally found a girlfriend and they're moving in together. All the other couples were jealous and happy for this couple and they all celebrated.

Congratulations on your empty nest. Now you can buy some more clothes to fill up the extra closet space!
