did your dog have another name when you brought them home? what were their names?

Gracie was Wolfie when the breeder had her. the name just didn't fit her so we changed it.

Beanie's name at the shelter was Rusty. we changed his name because the name Rusty didn't fit him.

Ocean didn't have a name at the shelter. his "number" was #3764.

Kodies name was Bronco at the shelter.
Lucy didnt have a name before we got her...that we know of anyways.

Before we brought Tango home, she was being called "Flash"...it didn't fit her at all.

Morgan & Winston have had their names for their entire life. Tia was always Tia, but my Dad wanted to name her Kiki..

Kaedyn's name before we got him was Milo.. but according to the pet psychic, he had two other homes before that.. so who knows what it was before Milo. No wonder he never responded to Milo. :p

Mini's original name was Angel. We have a cousin named Angel, so we changed it.

Jack's was Biff, and I never really liked it.

Before we settled on a name for Kyra she was little girl, Baby, Faith and then Kyra ;)

T.j's name was Charlie. That didn't fit him at all.

When we adopted both our pups we kept the names; when we first heard the name Bronx we thought it a little strange but not too long after and we realized it suited him well-not to mention it was quite different. With Bower we kept his name because the Humane Society had already named him this according to his previous owners last name-we figured he must have already had another name so to name him with yet a new name would possibly confuse him. The name has grown on us but believe me there are many times when he pretends it's not his name :rolleyes:

Mickey was Bandit (at rescue) who was Drew (at previous "home").
Molly was Marlie (at shelter) who was a lone pup wandering a busy street.

3 of our animals had no names just numbers, Lou Lou was 4 1/2 months old and already named by previous owner, we didn't like the name at first but decided to keep it and it suits her now, she is 9 1/2 months now! :)

Maddie's was Trudy. Actually, not that bad of a name, but I had a co-worker with that name, so that nixed it for me.

Oz's was Cosmo. Actually, another not so bad name, but I had an ex with a cat named Cosmo. So that name hadda go too.

Guller's was Lee. Not a prayer in the world, I woulda kept this name. Too humanlike.

Nacey and Buster were both named when we got them and we kept their names.

Bitsy didn't have a name yet, we gave her her first name.

Nova and Jake were both strays, I don't know what their names were before we got them.

Pixie's original name at the shelter was "Tootsie." She likes being called "Pixie" much better, lol.

Bailey's old owners had him for almost 4 years and they called him 'Gizmo', weird thing is, I've had him for barely a year and he doesn't answer to Gizmo hardly ever lol. Actually, within the first couple of days he would answer to nothing but Bailey. He now has numerous nicknames including Gizmo but he just seems to know he's a Bailey at heart.

At the shelter Ethan was at, his name was "Un-named". :o Then it changed to Ein when we began fostering him, then it somehow morphed into Ethan. :D I couldn't picture him as any other name.
Frisk wasn't named when we bought him, so his never changed.
