Summer Heat photo contest! *EDIT* New category!

Its been a while since anyone has started a photo contest here. So I'll step in and host one :)

I figured since all these poor kitties are dying of heat, we should have a photo contest based on the poor dears, and what they do to help cope with the heat. Lets see all those hot summer kitties!

*Edit* One small elaboration: they do not have to be outdoor pictures. I was actually thinking of indoor kitties all stretched out trying to expose as much of their hot tummies to air as possible. Or them seeking out the coolest tiled spot in the house, snoozing right in front of a fan, etc. The outdoor ones given so far are great, but lets see some indoor ones too! :D

Rules:
PM me with your photos, or post them here by.... lets say Sunday August 6th. That's 2 weeks. I'll post a poll Monday morning.

Because of the technical restrictions of many PTers, the photos should not be Photoshopped or contain additional words/graphics.

One entry per cat - so if you have multiple kitties, you can either have individual photos or a group photo.... so long as the same kitty isn't in more than one photo.

If I get more than 10 photos, I'll do separate polls and combine the top 2 or 3 kitties from each poll

I will send the winner a small prize (woohoo!)
I'm sure there's something I forgot so I'll update this post and add the list of contenders as I get photos :)

Here is our little feral kitty boy who showed up panting heavily from heat exhaustion late today. It was about 96 deg F at the time. He collapsed on the patio after a little food and ice water. Poor thing. I took a damp cloth outside in case he might let me close enough to wipe him down, but no go. :( Happily, he did drink lots of water.

I am getting SO CONFUSED here folks.... bear with me. I started out with one contest and got so many contestants that I broke them into two just because of the sheer number of responses. I'd still like one entry per cat -- so either enter hot kitties or sunlit kitties. I appologise for the confusion! I'm VERY confused myself! LOL I just have so many entries that the same cat in both contests would confuse me even worse than I already am. Not only that, I don't think it would be fair if the same kitty would happen to win both contests.

I have so far (14) pictures for sun kissed kitties, and (34) pictures for the hot kitties contest. (4) of the 34 are possibly able to go into a thrid category of drinking kitties. I will break them apart if we can get more contributions for the drinking category.

And a heads up... I have a HUGE presentation in the Philadelphia tomorrow morning (a 2 hours drive without getting lost... I ALWAYS get lost :rolleyes: ). The chances of me getting up early enough to put the poll together before I leave for my 9:00 appointment is pretty slim. I *might* put the polls up tonight after midnight my time OR wait til I return from tomorrow's appointment - which would be late afternoon. All that rambling for this: If I post it tonight, then all submissions are final. If I wait til tomorrow after my appointment, late entires will be accepted up til the time I post the polls.
