Taken Monday afternoon on the Yukon River. This part has a fairly calm current. I paddle against the current until I get tired and then let the current do most of the work on the way back!

It was a perfect afternoon for paddling. This section is usually fairly rough until later in the evenings.

Momma eagle in her nest. There is a mated pair who have lived on this island for a long time. They have an eaglet this year. I got a brief glimpse of him, but when momma saw me, she pushed her little one down into the nest, so no pics of him.

Beautiful. These make me want to go to the North Woods in MN again. One can find a lot of beautiful and pure scenery up there too, near the boundary waters.

Is this the same river shown with the reflection of the clouds upon the water?

No, two different rivers. The Yukon River is one of the ten largest in North America. The McClintock is just a little river. It does eventually feed into Marsh Lake, which is part of the Yukon River.

The McClintock River photo could almost have been taken here in winter except for the different type of trees. Really amazing place you live in! :)
