Omg-- Lightning

Just like 10 mins ago... I was coming home and it was raining and thundering out. All a sudden a lightning bolt was coming down (it looked like a cartoon it was zig zagging down) and it hit the telephone pole right about 50 ft from our car. Then there was this giant light SO bright in front of us, and then the transformer set on fire and we were right near it so my dad turns into a parking lot. Then we sat in the parking lot for a min, and then another transformer exploded and my mom had her camera but couldn't get it fast enough to take the picture. If my dad would have got past the light sooner we could have been right under it :eek: And the boom was so loud it could have defended us and my dad might have slammed on the brakes and we could have got in a car accident. Rusty was in the car too :eek: But it happen so fast that I wasn't really paying attention but when we got home and the power keep going out he was hidding between my parents. Its really smokey outside right now. I can smell smoke right now and I'm inside my house!!!

That's one scary episode with lightning!!!!

Can you imagine , being in this situation and actually ready to take pictures?

I've seen the devastation that lightning can cause!!!! You are now aware of it, and you will always respect it!!!!

What a scare! I am glad everyone is okay.
It seems like alot of storms are going on this evening. One is just rolling in here, hopefully the power doesn't go out since the heat is so horrid...

The transform thing blew up near us too from lightning last week.
But it was at night. The power kept going out and me and my freinds were sitting outside and the whole sky kept lighting up blue. I got pictures on my cam and I had a good one but i didnt save it!!! I was so mad!

I lost my power for about 3 hours but i'm back now. :D I have pictures of the smoke I will put up tommorow, to lazy today :o

EEEK! That must have been so scary!:eek: It's amazing how powerful the natural world is and things like that just remind you of it. I too and glad that you and your family, and of course Rusty, are OK!
