My friend won 2 Southwest airline tickets at an SPCA event last year. She never used them and just offered them to me! I have to use them by October 15th. I have the last week of September off so I'm thinking of using them then. I just emailed my sister and asked her if she could babysit Fenway that week. I hope she says yes.

I'm so excited. I don't know where I'm going to go. I was thinking either Disney or Las Vegas. I've always wanted to go to the Grand Canyon so maybe this is a great opportunity.

I'm just so excited. Nothing like this ever happens to me!

Anybody have any suggestions as to where I should visit?

:)

OMG- Congrats ! :D

As for where to go, it depends what you want to do. I like Lake George/Lake Placid. I'm obsessed with water, though. There are a lot of water parks and beaches Especially this one place called "The Great Escape " it's soo fun !

If you're heading in the florida direction. Do you have kids? What ages? Because Disney has mostly attraction for younger children ( I'd say probably about -10, bepends how mature they are... ). Universal Studios has attractions for adults and older children ( 11+ ). I prefered Universal. Disney might have been larger, though, I can't remember....

I would say Las Vegas. I've been to the Grand Canyon a few times, and it wasn't that exciting...

I've also been to Disney World, when I was in second grade, and it wasn't fun either. :p I was TOO little to do anything, and you probably wouldn't have any fun, since you aren't a little kid (unless you have kids).

I've been to Las Vegas twice. I was actually just there about 3 weeks ago. I love it there. There is always something going on. I would suggest going there to ANYONE because there is a lot to do and see.

Have you decided where you are going?

Wow, that is so cool! What a great friend! If you really like gambling and shows, then Las Vegas is a good spot, especially if you have a lot of money to throw around. Basically, if you've got the money there is a way to spend it there.

I was in Las Vegas for someone's wedding (they lived there, and had a very un-Vegas type wedding) and I found the casinos to be bit tiring after a while. I don't care about gambling that much and I didn't have a ton of money, so I couldn't spend $100+ to see something like Cirque de Soleil. That's just me though. I've been to the Grand Canyon, too, and I think it is just amazing! It's about 300 miles from Vegas so if you did decide to go there you could see both maybe.

My favorite city in the US is San Francisco! It's near redwoods and Yosemite, the ocean, and it's a nice city with a ton of things to do. Sorry to write a book here, good luck on deciding where to go. I'm sure you'll have fun no matter where you go! :D

Of the ones you mentioned, I would say DISNEY!!!!!! You could do Universal, too, of course, as they aren't far apart, as well as SeaWorld. I don't think you can ever get too old for Disney. I'm 43 and I still love the Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, MGM and the Animal Kingdom.

I haven't decided yet. I may have to board Fenway for the 1st time ever if I do decide to use them. And I'm worried sick over it because I've never boarded him before. I'll miss my little guy and my sister can't babysit him because she'll be on vacation the week I'll be going on vacation. So I'm just torn. I'm going to sleep on it for a few days and decide how much I really want to go somewhere. If I don't use them, I'll give them to my brother or something. I'm not sure I'd be able to enjoy myself knowing Fenway is in a kennel. What if he thinks I abandoned him? As for my cats, I can always get my neighbor to feed them. They can stay home and they'll be fine.

I'm actually thinking Florida. Just cause I have an Aunt & Cousins there that I haven't seen in a very long time.

So we'll see! Thanks for the suggestions though. When I read them, I get all excited.

I understand why you might be nervous about boarding Fenway, but just look for a kennel which suits you.

My family and friends have boarded loads of animals over the years, and everytime the dogs have loved it! As long as Fenway doesn't have any issues with other dogs, he will have a buddy with him almost all the time. Try to look at a few places in your area before the trip, and bring Fenway in so he can have a sniff around with you there.

Logan, I can't get ENOUGH of DisneyLand/DisneyWorld! I've been to both parks twice, and also took a Disney Cruise with my family in Febuary of 2001 (I think)
My only suggestion is to go to and Disney park. ;) :p

ORLANDO, florida! You should go to Disney or Universal. If you stay in one of the 3 Universal hotels(Portifino Bay, Hard Rock Hotel, Royal Pacific.) You can get 2 free tickets to the park I think if you buy 2 others. The hotels are all beautiful and the Royal Pacific is the cheapest. They are all rather expensive though. If you do stay there, you can bring Fenway since they are Loews hotels they allow dogs. But I don't think Disney hotels do.

So now we're thinking Washington DC. I think Florida may be too hot and I haven't been to DC in years. I'd love to go to the Smithsonian and see the WW II monument. I have to look at hotel room rates. Plus, we would only go for 4 nights because I'm really sick to my stomach thinking about boarding Fenway. It makes me want to puke. I know where I will be taking him and I trust them completely, but I will miss my little guy. We're like salt & pepper, Laurel & Hardy, Clinton & Bush, Sr.

Beeniesmom, I'd love to visit with you. If we decide to go to Florida, perhaps we can meet up. It would be an honor to meet the beans & franks!

:)

We haven't made the final decision yet.
