I'll add this to the regular thread but I wanted to get this out for more eyes to send up a good thought or even a prayer.
I got a VM from one of my best friends and her 28 year old brother was in the hospital having brain surgery b/c they thought a blood vessel had burst or a tumor had burst. She called me back later and left a message that it indeed was a tumor that leaked and they got 90% of it and he shouldn't have any paralysis or anything but will need therapy/rehab. They need to determine if it is malignant or benign. Then I got a call from my dad saying that the minister had been down there with the family and they requested that he call my parents with an update. (their dad lives right beside my parents and knows how close we are) and he was sitting up talking - other then being in shock I had handled it alright up until hearing my dad say that and then I got a bit weepy. so send up a prayer and healing thought for Kevin would you please? My friend and her husband just lost her husband's dad about a year ago unexpectadly he was only in his 50's so this probably hits really close for them.
Thanks everyone.

Aww, hope it was benign, I am glad he was already sitting up and talking. That's more than I could do after my brain surgery! Took me a couple days to be able to sit up - I couldn't even roll over in bed! He'll be in my prayers.

Staci,

Kevin and his family will be in my thoughts and prayers. Having been through the nightmares of a brain tumor with my then 16 year old daughter, I can definitely relate.

I'll keep this young man in my thoughts and prayers. His prognosis seems to weigh in on the "plus" side, as he is already sitting up in bed and talking!!!!!
My Father had brain surgery many years ago , so, I feel your anxiety . I sincerely hope the tumor was benign.

I talked with my friend - his sister today and he is doing great. She said if it wasn't for his shaved head you wouldn't know that he had brain surgery!
He was sitting up eating, demanding Starbucks, being ornery with the nurses, asking when he could start to work out again.
The tumor was around the size b/n a tennis ball and a golf ball. He may have to have some radiation treatments to keep it from growing once they find out if it was cancer.
He had been having migraines - new onset for awhile. He had been dealing with one for about a month and woke up yesterday and it was gone. Went and worked out and came home to go to work and when he got in his car it hit him again making his eyes water and started vomiting. He made it back to his apt and ended up calling 911 and then you know the rest.
Kristen (sister) said if you didn't see his shaved head and the staples in his head you wouldn't know he had brain surgery!
Thank you everyone! I'll keep you posted!

Thanks all!
His sister told me he isn't really out of the woods yet but he is working on it.
Depends on what the pathology report of the tumor shows.
