Just remembering my special boy Sampson, a handsome GSD who passed around this time last year, Delilah misses you Sammy, and so do the rest of us..I know you're happily chasing frisbees all day in doggy heaven. Old pic when he was a puppy, but this is the only one I could find.

The picture of Sampson as a puppy is beautiful, even though the chain link fence covered his face a bit. I'm glad you had that one to post.

The dog lovers at Pet Talk know full well the heart aches felt when that "horrible date" returns. What happened to Sampson?, With that aside, Please remember Sampson today with pleasent , joyful memories. You have my HUGS today!!!!!!!

How is Delilah ? Poor Dear, we must think of her as well.

We watched samspon in the back yard, and saw what we thought was a harmless frog hopping around in his kennel, we didn't think anything of it at the time, within 10 mins after we brought him inside for the night, he started shaking in his crate, having seizures and convulsions, and pawing at the door to get out, so we rushed to see what was the matter..we let him out, and he was foaming from the mouth..we immediately let him outside for air..cooled him down with a garden hose, because he seemed very warm, and called the vet and he asked us if he had been exposed to anything and we remembered the frog..well it turns out it was a toad that he'd probably eaten, and our vet told us that they are posionus to dogs, and to spray the hose at his gums and down his throat, which we did, but it was too late..the posion got to him, all within 15 minutes and he died...it was a horrible thing to watch and experience. :( We know Delilah misses him, she's never been the same.

Oh how horrible!!!
And to think that we have a toad that sticks around our yard quite a bit, neither dog bothers him at all. I actually have pictures of Sierra and the Toad nose to nose!
I will be sure to keep a close eye on the toads in my yard.
I'm so sorry for your tragic loss of such a handsome boy. :(

Thankyou all for your kind words. The severeness of posion depends on the toad really..here is a helpful site, it shows how to prevent this all...if only i'd have known this all before, anyhow..it's a good heads up for you all. It focuses on a specific toad in australia but it is still good advice, and you can find other species on there too.
