Hi! I'm not new here, but thought I'd give everyone who is new here a nice good intro of me :) So, here goes! My name is Makayla and I will be turning 15 on June 14th. I have quite a bit of hobbies, but my #1 hobby is showing dogs. I have two show dogs right now, a 4 year old fawn Boxer named Diesel, and a 5 month old Rottweiler named Lola. Lola is going to start her showing career at about 1 year old, and Diesel has already started his.
I have three dogs, Alaska is my Boxer, and he turned 8 years old this year. He's a white Boxer and he came to us in 1998, his birthday is March 9th. Lots of people wanted him, but since we were the first ones to inquire about him we got him. We went to see him when he was 12 weeks old. We brought him home that day and he's been a great dog ever since, we are very glad we brought him home. About 2 years after Alaska, we got a dog named Claire, a tawny Boxer. When she turned about 4 years old, we couldn't handle her aggresiveness with other dogs, and we found a new owner for her, Lillian, a specialist in Boxer behavior. Claire now lives with 4 other Boxers along with a couple Bulldogs, and show no aggresion at all, thanks to Lillian. Shortly after Claire went to her new home, we decided to get another dog. We all agreed on either a Golden Retriever or Chocolate Labrador Retriever. But the plans changed, we went to see a 6 week old white boxer, when we saw her we immedietley fell in love with her. We brought her home that day, April 9th. We named her Pearl because of the black spot on her head at first, but changed it to Georgia later on. When Georgia was about 3 years old, I found an abused stray, a Pit Bull mix. Everyday he'd come to my house and I'd train him and play with him, and feed him. But one day everything was different, the dog did not come to play, days past and he didn't come. I called the pound but there were no records of a brindle pit bull mix. It was my birthday and my sister & mom were gone. I heard the car door slam but I didn't care, all I was thinking about was Buddy. They came inside, and I heard something run up the stairs... more than 2 legs. The dog came up to me and licked my face all over, a balloon tied to his collar. That was my present, forever and for always. Now his name is Buddmond (Buddy), and he's a great dog. Still in need of training, as he still has his puppy attitude. He's 2 years old now and an awesome dog. About a year after Buddy, we were camping with some of our old friends. Their grandpa came with his 2 Dachshunds (Penaut and Snoozer) and Poodle (Calli). They told my parents they were going to put Snoozer to sleep because they couldn't contain her and her needs. We ended up taking the over-weight, flea-infested dog home. We found out shortly after that she has Breast cancer. We had to give her back to her old owners. Now she is probubly over the rainbow bridge, I'm sad we couldn't take her, but I know we couldn't've afforded her cancer. Besides my dogs, I have 8 fire belly salamanders, 10 green tree frogs, 1 leopard gecko, 1 hamster, 7 Koi fish, and 1 'floor cleaner' fish.
