My rescue group has a website (www.1by1catrescue.com). Among the pages are memorials for pets we have lost (many are cats formerly from our shelter). As one of their volunteers, I thought that even though Lucas was not a 1by1 cat, I could write something for him. Here it is:

Lucas, you were my first real rescue. You were a youngster
on the street and I snatched you from the forthcoming icy
jaws of winter. You grew up to be a friend to everyone you
met both human and feline. Over the years you were my alarm
clock and my purr therapist. You were a joy to have around.
11 1/2 years was simply not enough time to spend with you.
But cancer made your body weak and I would not have you
suffer. You carried a very large piece of my heart with you
to the rainbow bridge and I expect you to return it to me
upon our reunion.........one fine day. Jen Luckenbach

What a nice tribute. I know that Lucas already knows how much he was loved and missed but now others can read this and know too. I know you'll both meet again some day.:)

What a loving tribute to your dear Lucas. Don't think it could have been better said at all.

You will be together some day...........

Well said Friend Jen.
At the Empress Of Cina Lucas was devouring his plate of delicous food.
He sobbed and said
Why cant my Meowmie be here?
She would love this chicken and beef.
My Dear Mother patted Lucas, and said dont worry Lucas. You and Your Meowmie will be together.
Shes needed on Earth to find homes for other Cats.
Will I see her again?
My Dear Mother smiles and said in Gods Time, Lucas.
One Fine Day.
