- What type of collar does your dog wear?

For those of you who use collars what type of collar does your dog wear most often (flat buckle, martingale, etc.), and what is it made of (leather, nylon, etc.)? You can also post a picture of their collar/s if you'd like.

Tango: She has tons of different collars but she most often wears her lime green embroidered nylon (with a metal buckle) one and her hemp one jsut arrived yesterday, and I absolutely love it so she'll be wearing it often. I've never had or seen a hemp collar before and it is by far my favourite out of all the collar materials out there, it's so soft but very breathable and durable. For walking, she wears eithre a prong or a martingale. Here is a pic of each of her main flat collars:

Winston: He wears a plain green hemp martingale. He's allergic to nylon and flat collars just slide right over his head or else he'd have a leather one but I couldn't find any leather martingales. I'm glad I got him the hemp though because as I said, I love them. Here's a pic of his:

Morgan: She wears a purple nylon collar with green geckos on it made by Rogz. She also has a pink martingale for walking. Here's a pic of her flat collar:

Tia: She just wears a regular flat nylon one all the time. It's teal, red, and gold. I don't have a pic of it though. For walking, she uses a harness.

Eika has a leather collar that the breeder made with her named stamped on it. When she grows out of that one she has a Boston Red Sox collar to wear. :)

Payson wears a martingale because flat collars slide right off his head. This is the collar I bought for him, only it's almost time for a new one because his is getting kind of old.

I buy Payson's collars from If it wags (http://www.ifitwags.com/dog.htm). Payson is small and MUST have a martingale collar and she makes them in all sizes. All her of her designs come in regular flat style and martingale. Plus I think her collars are super cute, I usually don't like most collars I see. However I don't buy them off her website, she also sells her collars on Ebay for much cheaper than what she does on her website!

all my dogs collars came from aroundthehounds.com :) well exept Ripleys, his is from walmart lol but I might eventually get Ripley one of the small buckle collars Cher has. but they are hand made designer collars, and as such they are WAY more expesnice then the if-it-wags ones!

Frisk... no collar. His neck is too big. :o If I put a collar on him, he will take his paw and slide the collar off of his head and look at me like I'm an idiot. :D Though on walks, he wears a plain black nylon harness (like the kind from wal-mart)... he's had it for atleast 2 years now.

Ethan... I tend to buy alot of collar for him, since he's able to wear them. He only has three right now (we had gave alot to Skylar, and skylar ended up either breaking them or chewing them up somehow.) He has the one he's wearing now..

On walks we use a prong. Harnesses make him pull harder. If and when we ever master the art of healing with a martingale, I'm getting his a custom embroidered one from blockydogs.com (1 1/2 linch)

Congrats! I know you'll love it! We get compliments on Payson's collar all the time. They are also pretty durable, Payson has had his for almost a year and it's still in great condition.

Gonzo has 2 that he wears most, a black rolled leather collar with his tags, or his blue & orange nylon harness by Rogz.

Fozzie always wears his harness, I find it way more convenient for a puppy because he can't slip out, I can pick him up by it, and when he (inevitably) is pulling on the leash he isn't gasping for air. As I start seriously OB training him, he will start wearing a rolled leather collar. His harness is so cute, it suits him... it's a green/blue/yellow plaid nylon harness by Rogz.

Just to give them props, I love Rogz for Dogz! They have a bunch of cute designs & the really hardy plastic snaps have a "locking" option. They're also available at every feed store I've ever been to =)

Niño just got a new one at the street fair today. I wasn't really ready to let go of his old one but it's ratty and I just really liked this one. It's waterproof and kinda reflective and I'd been meaning to buy one like it for a while. Plus they engraved the name and ID plate right there it 2 minutes. :D I love the color and it has actually been the best so far in the was of NOT getting all under his fur and irritating him. :D It has a silver buckle.

Martingale, it's the only thing for greyhounds. My girl's head is so small- i'd have to strangle her with a buckle collar, or she'll slip it off. Her Martingale isn't very attractive. It's black and so is she. I put her in a pink buckle collar for photos.

Nebo wears a brown rolled leather collar. It's thicker than most, he's had it for years and it has been great. Its the only type of collar I will use for him and any future huskies.

Reggie and Sydney both have flat leather collars. Reggie's is black and silver and Sydney's is red with hearts and diamonds.

Both of my guys have martingales. I always see pretty collars that I want to buy but it'd be pointless with two Shelties. It's really hard to see that they're even wearing a collar :p When I get a shorter haired dog though, I'm gonna go all out with collars. :D

Rusty the Amazing Felon wears a prong collar for working, and a hemp collar for his tags etc. Goofy doesn't wear a collar often as Rusty chews it off her! We use a nylon slip lead for her walks most times as we went through 3 collars this month alone!

Nuria won $47 in the show Friday, and since I've already spent a lot on her, I'm getting Niño his BlockyDogs 1 1/2" Martingale, Silver with a navy, maroon, and lime stripe. :) I'm getting his name embroydered on it and ordering a brass plate to put on it for adress and phone number because he escapes a lot.
