News from Rocky, the old rottie (Update: more pics!)

Rocky, my parents' old rottie (11,5 years) who has been diagnosed with an extremely enlarged spleen saw his vet last week (for his vaccination) and he was surprised how good he's looking now, half a year after he's been so gravely ill and weak. The vet thinks that whatever made his spleen grow cannot be anything malign because if that was the case, Rocky wouldn't have recovered so well. A biopsy has never been made because the vet feared it would make the cancer spread, and he ruled out surgery because of Rocky's age and poor condition at that time.

Now he's doing much better and is enjoying his life. There's a huge surprise waiting for him next weekend: He's will get a little rottie baby sister, Emma. Can't wait for her arrival, and I hope everything will work out fine with the resident pets (Rocky and the two cats, Peggy and Dino). I'll keep you updated.

Today, I visited my mother and we were in the garden where I took new photos of Rocky. He had fun lying on the grass, chewing half-rotten branches. :)

Glad to hear he's doing good. He's a really handsome guy, and like others have pointed out, he has aged really nicely... I don't see a single grey hair! :D
I'm sure he'll love his baby sister once he meets her. How could anyone not love a baby rottie! ;)

Rocky is doing so well, and it's amazing to know that he's done this well so far. I know he'll love having a young one to be around him and I hope the rest of his days are filled with happiness and love:D
