Garlic has been changing colours. His whole body was black when I got him now hes getting red all over him. His tail was always red but now his head is started to change.

that's so strange! i have no idea why this would happen. maybe it's something in his water, food, etc?

Yep, that's pretty normal! I think every single one of my VTs changed colors drastically after a few days. My halfmoons and plakats not so much.. but the VTs looked like totally different fish! I'm not sure why but I think it has to do with better quality water, food and more than a plastic cup to swim around. :p

Rilo right after I got him:

Some of mine change colors, some don't. My Icee, so named for his icey blue color is now blue, green and red, no icey about him.

Dyed fish are usually members of the tetra family, never bettas. The dye usually ends up killing the fish with a few months. Its a very barbaric practice. Bettas do change colour though. My blue/white girl used to be all white.

Kodiak was purple when I got him lol now in the light he is ice blue with red trimming, and in the dark, his entire tail turns red(in the light his tail is blue with just a thin red trim on the outside)
