This is an email I received from a list that I am on. I don't know anything more about it, I am just passing it on in hopes the lady will find help. If you can help or know someone that can please pass this info on to them and have them contact the lady in the email.

Thanks,

Hello, it's Shannon from the Humane Society of Greater Akron and I
come to all of you today asking for help. If anyone has any
assistance they could give me on this, I would greatly appreciate it
more than you know. Thursday night I was called by Akron Police Dept
and went out on a call where I had to get a cat that was left alone
with no one to care for him after the owner had died of cancer. When
I arrived the cat was actually cuddled up to his owner's body and he
was terrified of my coming and taking him away. It about broke my
heart. The neighbors told me how much the man had loved his cat and
since he had no family around, he was his whole life. The cat even
had his own room in the apartment with "Baxter" stencilled on the door
and was full of toys, a cat tree, and a couple of cat beds. He is a
gorgeous orange male, about 15-18lbs (a biggin) and very sweet. I am
sick to find out that after we tested him, he is positive for FIV
(feline Aids). We do not adopt out FIV positive cats so now I am on a
mission to find this guy a place to go so that he can live out a happy
and safe life. His name is Baxter. I do not know off hand how old he
is but I don't believe him to be very old. Do you have any ideas for
me or any leads you may be able to give as to how I can keep Baxter
safe and find him a great place to go? It was a very sad and touching
moment for me when I had to go and get Baxter from the nook of his
deceased owner's arm and take him from the only home he had ever
known. I cannot let this cat be put down. Please, if you have any
ideas for me at all, let me know. We have to hold him for a 10 day
period and then after that I will need to get him somewhere right away
so it doesn't buy me a lot of time. Thanks for listening. Every now
and then a cat/dog comes along that you just can't turn your back on
and for me, Baxter is one of those. If I did not already have 7 pets
of my own, I would take him. For anyone willing to help him, I will
donate some supplies to such as canned/dry cat food, treats, and
litter. I don't have much but what I do have is yours. Trust me
folks, he is worth saving. Thanks.

I Am In Canada.
I Wish I Wasclaoser, As Icould Fit Baxter Into The Found Cat Hotel.
I Am Sure If The Media Knows Baxter Would Have A Home, In No Time.
We Are Praying For Baxter.

I'll let Purrfect Pals, the no-kill shelter which has an FIV-land, know and see if they can take him. They always have a waiting list and I know they are expecting several new ones very soon but if this cat is likely to find himself euthanized unless a home is found for him, they may put him ahead on the list. They would expect the Ohio shelter to arrange transport.

That's such a touching story, please let us know that Baxter is well and finds a home, I want to know that he is safe and gets a home.
If I lived in Canada I'd have him.
