Veterans Day

As today is Veterans Day in the United States, I think it would be appropriate for us to remember and honor all the dogs who have served with our armed forces. Thousands of dogs and many of their handlers gave their lives in course of events which in turn saved the lives of thousands of military men and women.

It is armistice day in the UK and we also owe a debt of gratitude to the canines that have served our country as well as our armed forces.

Today is Rememberance Sunday here and as my husband is in the army it is a big day for us. Many army Padre's across the country will mention the animals that have worked alongside the forces in their services today.

At a few dog shows I've been too, there was a booth for signatures and donations to build a dog memorial. The photos mounted were incredible. Many a human life was saved by our canine in arms!
