Kirk is home!! *new retrieving video added*

We brought Kirk home about 1pm yesterday. His breeder was sad to see him go so we made a quick departure. He is being so good - an absolute dream. Housebreaking has been a breeze so far! :D The only thing that has scared him was the garbage truck. I need to figure out how to better deal with that tomorrow.

Yesterday's vet check up was uneventful. He weighed in at 10 lbs. 14 oz. (He will be 9 weeks old Saturday.) He loved meeting everyone at the clinic and got lots of treats. He will go back next week for his booster vax.

I haven't taken many good pictures yet. I forgot how hard it is to photograph moving puppies! Anyway, I will share the pictures I have taken.

He is already attaching himself lovingly to my Dad and loves to sleep under his chair at his desk. My Dad will probably have to get his second round of chemo this week :( and since Kirk came home conversation has shifted to happier things and my father's attitude has improved markedly. I am so thankful for this angel with fur. :)

Kirk also met Tigger last night. Tigger is a 3 y/o BC and his Mommy is a close family friend.
Tigger was soooo good with Kirkie. In fact, he seemed to be intimidated by him!! We had to give poor Tigger a break once Kirk started looking for milk though...LOL! Hopefully they will become fast friends. :)

Just a quick tip, If hes scared of the garbage truck dont fuss over him too much just act normal because if he sees you worrying about him he will be worried because you are and associate mum being worried with the garbage truck so it will mostly be something he will stay scared of, just reasure him calmly that hes a good boy and give him a treat when its gone for a while and it will soon stop being a problem!:p If that makes sense?

bckrazy - I'm currently transitioning him to Solid Gold Hundchen Flocken + seameal. After that transition I will add in homecooked for his evening meal. :)

Housetraining is going soooo well. It probably helps that we take him out every 1-1.5 hours. I love not having to clean up messes on the carpet!! He has a perfect record so far. *knock on wood*

He is hard to photograph though. I can't get many 'head on' shots like the first pic in this thread. That is...unless he is asleep. ;)

I also have 2 videos to share! This is my first time posting videos so I'm very excited. They are both just 15 seconds long. I can't figure out if my camera can take longer ones or not...it's not a very fancy or new camera. The first one is pretty dark, but it is too cute not to share. Next time I'll have to bring in a lamp or something when shooting indoor videos.

I gave Kirk his first bath today. Well, his first bath since coming home with us anyway. My Mom popped her head in to snap one pic. I wanted his bath to be short and sweet, so the torture was minimized. ;) He was very good!

I know what you mean about his feet. He is *supposed* to be on the smaller side if his parents are any indication. The breeder also said that the sire has big feet yet he weighs in at a lean 38-40 lbs. or so. So....we'll see.....

On a random note, we bought some Bitter Apple last night. There is a spot of carpet that he has started to chew and redirecting him is doing no good. So in the car on the way home I thought I should try some of the stuff since that seemed the only fair thing to do. OMG, YUUUUCK!!! :o Totally vile. Has anyone else ever tried it? :p It is the epitome of bitterness and the nastiness lingers in your mouth for a quite a while. Please tell me I'm not the only one who does such things, haha. Anyway since applying it he has left the spot of carpet alone. Yay!

I have been so bad about taking pictures since I am hardly home this week. I am petsitting until the 23rd and it's an overnight type job. Kirk continues to do well and continues to be a mischievous little thing. ;) Here are some pictures taken today and yesterday. It may not show up in the pics, but he is getting verrrry leggy. I think he is entering the gangly stage. He gets his last puppy boosters in early July and after those have kicked in we can finally take him outside of our yard. :D Then he can hang out with Tigger in his yard or maybe we'll take them on a group walkie.

I put the Kwik Stop there for size comparison. Yup, it's a hole in the wall that he made through the bars of the crate. It happened while I was away housesitting/dogsitting. My parents didn't even notice!! I don't know how they didn't hear him making this little crater; I guess he did it at night. Anyway, we have since moved the crate away from the wall. We are still working on getting fabric to make a nice crate cover. Right now we are just using an old sheet and it only covers 3 sides. Anyway, they were a little peeved, but realized that it was ultimately not his fault. Haha, what a booger!!

oh my goodness! Kirk is just absolutly adorable! I may be biased, but I must say... Border Collies have got to be the cutest puppies around! Kirk is growing up waaay too fast! :) He is such a cute little guy, and he looks so fluffy and huggable! How could you stay mad at him for that *tiny* hole in the wall? LOL... you should see some of the damage Fozzie has done when our backs are turned for a second! He has 3 shredded patches of carpet and the base of a wooden chair under his belt, but he hasn't done anything for weeks. Thankfully, for them, they're way too adorable to stay mad at!
