I'm new to all this ebay stuff and still learning. I'm currently bidding on this:

http://cgi.ebay.ca/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=7620899673&rd=1&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWA%3AIT&rd=1

Notice that he hasn't put anything in for the "condition." Turns out they have had it for two weeks and only played with it for about 30 min. He's advertising it as "new" but shouldn't it be classified as "used" since he's had it out of the box and played with it? At what point does an item become "used?"

Well, IF he's not a "Canon DEALER" - you're going to have a difficult time IF
a warranty repair issue comes up!
And you should make sure it's a CANADIAN labeled camera.

One place has the eBay current bid price beat already.

I've noticed most CURRENT model electronic gadgets are NOT sold on eBay for very much,
if anything, below the price you can find a new item being sold by a discounter.

Again - *watch* the Country of Origin -
it almost alway needs to be the same Country you LIVE in for painless warranty repairs.

Thanks Phred. I know that he lives about a 1/2 hour drive from me and he said he bought it for his wife but she doesn't like all the buttons and gadgets so I know that it's "local." Never thought about the warranty though. I should ask if he has all the receipts and warranty stuff. I'm just questioning whether or not it's "used"...therefore affecting the cost accordingly.

Thanks for the links, but keep in mind that most of them are US sites/dollars and even without shipping costs, I will have to pay a hefty duty fee when I pick it up at the PO. That happened last year when I had to pick up something that was shipped to me from the States. That's why I will only buy from Canadian sellers.

He did say that I could come and pick it up if I'm the winner. I'm thinking I'll take cash with me and take a look at the goods first before handing it over.

Yes, technically it is a "used" camera.
But if you believe him - it's hopefully not damaged - just UN-wanted.

As for the PriceScan.com site - I "thought" that one was one that DID hunt
for Canadian sources;
if you TOLD them to search Canadian.

It's really NOT worth buying USA and then shipping into Canada -
the Duty is usually pretty stiff!
