Win the Dog Whisperer DVDs!

Do you have a "problem dog," know one, or just want to learn a better way to train the dogs with whom you share your life?

Enter our Dog Whisperer Contest (http://dogoftheday.com/contest/) to win the entire Season One Collection of DVDs, including auditions, outtakes and other extras. This isn't even available to the public until May 23rd.

I had never seen the show on TV, and enjoyed the DVDs. Mr. Millan is very much in tune with the dogs' mindset, and works hard to train the people every bit as much as the dogs.

It was heart-wrenching seeing the one family who were told by everyone - even their veterinarian - that their beloved young Boxer was "just going to get worse," and to have it put to sleep. Cesar Millan saved not only that dog's life, but the whole family's hearts from breaking. (I had tears in my eyes.)

Each episode features a different dog or dogs, with different problems. And over and over, Mr. Millan talks to the people, and works with the dog and problem after problem virtually disappears.

He so obviously loves the dogs, dogs of all shapes and sizes and temperaments - even when he gets bitten, he doesn't react with anything but "calm attention," a phrase he says repeatedly, but that you really see demonstrated in the videos.

Watching this makes me wish I had seen this years ago.

A disclaimer: Miss Hoppy, of course, has trained us perfectly and does not need Mr. Millan's attention, which she wanted to make sure I mentioned. Besides, she's a rabbit.

Miss Hoppy prefers to stay at home and let the professionals handle the prize delivery. In her mind, car rides all end at the veterinarian's office where someone MUST be bitten, so even when we bring her somewhere else, she is not a happy bunny. She has, however, watched the DVDs with us.

I've never seen the show either. My dad and sister watch it and have been trying to get me to watch it. The reason I haven't watched it is because I'm afraid my dogs will bark at the TV. They always bark when they see a dog on TV. I'd love to get the DVDs because then I can watch the show in my bedroom, I have a DVD player in there but no cable.

I love Cesar and think he does a wonderful job with all the dogs he visits.

To further clarify, we didn't want to ask people for just an email address, and then have problems getting a "real" address from them once they won. We also didn't want people worrying about giving us their email address, especially since, in this case, we didn't need it, just the postal address.

Just because it's in print doesn't make it true, more facts are needed and it was an employee, not Cesar, who was accused. Until the facts are known doesn't make it more than an accusation. I'll see how it plays out in court. If you don't agree with it don't enter, your perogative.

There is another thread that is already discussing this. This thread is about the contest and people who are interested in it, not the place to bash Cesar or his methods and bring up media articles (we all know all media articles are true to the fullest extent right? ;)) This is no place to debate Cesar's methods. I agree with Vela, enter if you want, don't enter if you don't want, that simple.

Whoever might be trying to win this video, might as well be informed. In the end, it is their decision. No one is forcing anyone to do anything, we'd just like peopel to be well-informed before they make that decision. :)

The choice is simple, if you don't like him or his training methods, don't register. If you do like him, then register!
