Please celebrate Ginger's 20th birthday with me.

I don't know exactly when she was born, but sometime in May, 1986. She was one of a litter of three, born in the bushes near my home to a stray calico who later found a good home with my boss. I didn't know anything about feral cats, and the kittens were feral, and no-one had good advice to give me. After I trapped them and brought them inside, I let them have the run of the house so it took years for them to really tame. For the first 17 years of her life, Ginger would peer up at me out of the corner of her eyes while I massaged her shoulders and I knew she viewed me as some kind of monster. Then she changed when she became an old lady and decided that it was really very nice to lie beside me, and then on me, and now she lies in my arms like a baby.

I hope I look this glossy and clear-eyed when I'm in my 90's. (Excuse the dirty eye, I clean them every day.)

Happy 20th Ginger! Wow, that is quite a milestone! You look very chipper and perky for a mature lady (if I may say so).

Hope you have a wonderful birthday and lots more to come!

Happy Birthday to Ginger. You share my beloved grandmother's name - the one who gave me my red hair. (I know - it has to come down from both sides of the family, but my grandmother Ginger had obviously strawberry blonde hair.) Wishing you comfort, peace, joy, and love in your coming 21st year. (But don't take to alcohol, just because you're of legal age. Heh.)

Happy birthday, Ginger!

She looks great for her age. Has she had any "work" done? ;)

Well, she did have a little "work" done on her left ear, but that was to correct the holes that my Artful Dodger made in it with his teeth. I just couldn't see her wearing earrings!

The Happiest of Birthdays Ginger!

You are one gorgeous gal! Tabitha, my 17 (almost 18) year old loves to lay in my arms also! We lay that way together for hours on end almost every evening!

Hope your day is great sweet one!

What a sweet and beautiful girl you are. :) I can tell your mom loves you very much. I wish you more happy years to come - and I hope you will get lots of special cuddles all day long, and your favourite treats. :)

Fister and I send kisses, scritchies and headbumpies.

It's heartwarming that you gave her a home for 17 years while she thought you were a monster! Happy birthday to a grand old lady and hope she enjoys good health for a long time to come. :)
