Today, mail carriers collected canned food all across the United States, in what is probably the largest food drive in the world.

THe canned food goes to stock local pantires that hand out food to the poor and needy....

I took our can goods up to our post office it was easier than having the carrier who comes by car handle the 12 cans we were donating. :)

What a great idea. We also had a 'knitting for the homeless' day for the Salvation Army last weekend. Some generous people at work gave me a giant bag of winter clothes to donate and I've been knitting some beanies ... slowly ... very slowly. I hope they are of use to some people.
