**URGENT PRAYER Request for Zippy-Kat's New Pup "MAGGIE"

Zippy came home for lunch to find MAGGIE *shaking* and barely able to walk.

Don't know the details - but apparently "evidence" was found indicating that
Maggie had gotten into a POISON that she managed to find. http://petoftheday.com/i/our_smilies/frown.gif

Zippy and Maggie are On the Way to the White Coats Office ...

Some Serious Pet Talk Prayers are needed - NOW - that a proper antidote
is available and will bring her out of this.

Just got off the phone with Tonya ...

Maggie is being treated at a local Vet (not the Vet of Choice - who is out of town -
but a knowledgeable Vet - just not the best Human Bedside attitude).

She got into the Garden Shed - and some Bug Killer chemicals.
Tonya came home about noonish and went into the back yard to say Howdee to Maggie ...
Maggie appeared to be sleeping - but then was unable to stand & walk.
Mom & Dad came home and Tonya called to them for help in the yard.

Frantic phone calls to the Vets - #1 not in; #2 "too busy"; #3 bring her in ...
"Evidence" labels gathered and off they went to the Vet ...

Vet called either Poison Control or the manufacturer and a course of treatment
was started ... too soon to know how successful it will be -
but Tonya thinks the Vet was optimistic for a good recovery.

PRAYERS NEEDED for Maggie & the Family!!
Maggie is NOT out of the woods, yet.

We just heard back from the vet. Liver and kidneys are un-damaged (*HUGE* sigh of relief) but still not real sure about neurological stuff. They have her on IVs and Vallium, something that starts with a D and Azi-Pen (azithromycin-penicillin?).

We're suppose to call tomorrow at 9am for updates and (possibly) to arrange a time to pick her up.

Still not sure how she got into the building - it's cinderblock with a "sticky" door. :(

Never underestimate the ingenuity of a curious dog! Poor Maggie - at least liver and kidneys are okay, but we'll keep the prayers coming.

Just got off the dinger with Zippy-Kat ...
No more calls since the Vet's 9:00 PM call - so we'll hope Maggie is resting quietly.

Zippy sounded reasonably up-beat based upon the Vet's report ...
Let's all Pray the morning report is also a good one.

Maggie has made some progress with her "issues" - they've managed to take
a few evening walks without too much upset or panic -
Maggie might be able to *ignore* a SkateBoard one of these days!
Lil more "work" required for "men" and "bicycles" - but Rome wasn't built in a day.

I was at work when I got Zip's voice mail. I had to listen to it twice before I understood what had happened.
Immediately got on the phone with Phred and told him to put a prayer request post.
Heard from Zip later.
Was expecting to be home at normal time but the person that was coming in is actually working Saturday nite instead of Friday night! So my OT was tonite instead of Saturday! But I had to find out how my Boxer neice was.

Thank you guys for your continued thoughts and prayers. They worked! Our bouncy girl is back home. She was sent home with some antibiotics to prevent an infection of any sorts. We go in Friday for a follow up exam.

When we went to pick her up, she gave us a "Gee guys, where ya been all night? What's all the fuss about?" look. :rolleyes: She was COMPLETELY back to normal (albeit a bit calmer, effects of the vallium, I guess).

No calmness now... we just had a romp and I got slimed from ear to elbow, elbow to wrist. (Oh the joys of jowl-y dogs! :p )

Oh, what a shock to find this thread, and what a relief to read that she has literally bounced back. I know from experience that this episode will erase any doubt (not that there ever was any) that Maggie is part of your heart.
