Of course you can use the computer (so long as you log on as yourself :D :D :D) It will be something for you to do during the night if your body clock is still on California time!

Samantha has inspected your room to make sure it is up to scratch. She seems quite comfortable, ehm, I mean satisfied. I will have to go back to cleaning now. ;)

All sorts of things could have happened, if they went to the distillery. Just imagine them around all these barrels of whisky! ;) ... and there's a very special cat there too. I bet they're chasing him to get some pictures for us! :D

In any case, Karen and Sara, it's about time to check in here and give a report!!! Then again, they may not be able to type! ;)

Hello....photos will wait until I get home....but here's my report (I really didn't post this before?????)

Let's see....distillery, castle, gardens, Royal Yacht Brittania, food, wine, food, wine, food....did I mention wine?

European keyboards are so difficult for me to type on.....I promise a full report when I get home!

Just believe me when I say I am having a GREAT time....and I have seen all three gray ladies....albeit NOT up close and personal!

Barbara
05-07-2006, 03:16 PM
Food and wine on the Royal Yacht Britannia? Did I get this right?
As we all know our ES is the most royalist of Southern Californians could it be possible the Queen had you over for a little party? ;)

slick
05-07-2006, 07:03 PM
Well, it's about time you checked in Sister!!! What's all this about Royal parties on the Poop Deck?? :D :D

Castles and wine and food.....it's sounds like my idea of a vacation. Jet lag, or no jet lag....you'd better get those pictures posted as soon as you get home.

Please pass on {{{hugs}}} to Karen from me, OK? As for the grey ladies, if you can get close enough kiss them for me.

Awwwwww, that is great! I missed so many news while being on vacation!

I am sure you're having a great time. Did you get to see the cat at the distillery? Is it the same cute sweet orangie? Sara, good luck with petting the grey ladies, I didn't manage to.

Pictures, pictures....

The Queen has been rather busy with her birthday celebrations so we only had time for a quick tea. Then she was off with the Duchess of Kent (who was also at tea) for a game of tennis. As I am not partial to the Duchess of Cornwall (I just can't let go of the past! ) she didn't attend.

I just enjoyed a bit of foot sniffing from Daisy this morning......she LOVES my travel slippers....

Sara, this is the trick: Put on some E45 and just sit close to either of them, they'll soon come running to lick your hand. ;) At least, that's what Fister does.

Hope you're all having great time, and I wish you a pleasant flight back! :)

I picked Sara up from the airport on Friday morning. It was a lovely sunny day, so we took a run up to the distillery that I posted about before, where Towser used to live. Glenturret (http://petoftheday.com/talk/showthread.php?t=82342&highlight=towser)

When they were "interviewing" for a distillery cat, they could not decide between Dylan and Brooke, so they took both. The last time I was at the distillery (with Vio), we saw Dylan.

It would seem that Brooke does not like to look directly at the camera. :D We didn't see Dylan this time. I think they work shifts.

On the way back home we visited Stirling Castle which is built on a rock and dominates the surrounding landscape, but I don't have a good picture of it. Perhaps Sara took one. This was the only one I took and it was more aimed at the flowers than the building.

Saturday was also a beautiful day so we drove up the side of Loch Lomond and over to Inverary, where there is a garden to visit. The garden is old, but was only restored and opened to the public four years ago. It is not a formal garden, it is intended to look like a highland glen (valley).

Sunday was a horrible day, so we headed for Edinburgh hoping the weather might be better over there. It wasn't. We visited the decommissioned Royal Yacht, which is berthed at Leith, Edinburgh's port.

I'm holding the handset for the commentary, not a weapon!

Just before we took this picture, a couple walked passed us eating ice creams! We didn't indulge.

Monday was a beautiful day again, but rather than any more sightseeing, we decided to go shopping! We had a very successful day in Glasgow. If only I had thought to take pictures of our purchases, I could have posted them! :D

I am jealous too - the gardens are wonderful. The cala lillies are unbelievable. I have never seen any quite that large.

Glad you got to see so many places - the garden looks wonderful! I take it you went inside the castle? What a fantastic building!

I see Sara is down on her knees for Brooke, he seems to be quite the hunter ... love that picture in the grass. :)

Although the weather was bad on the sunday, you seemed to have a lot of fun anyway. :D

A shopping trip in Glasgow? That must have benn quite the experience - did Sara understand anything they said? LOL! (I'm thinking of Rab C. Nesbitt)

Ps. You can still take pictures of the your purchases and post them. ;)

Speaking of Karen and Alec....they get the host and hostess with the mostess award. I had a most wonderful time. Karen filled you in on what we did and saw. It would take too long to describe what we ate and drank. Here are some photos.....

If you ask nicely you may get a front shot (or a Harley t-shirt.... ;) )

And the shopping. Thankfully I was only traveling with a carry-on bags. I could have spent a fortune. The fashions in Glasgow!!!!! The only diffiuclty....the sizing. It is larger. So, let's say... a US or Canada size 10...is a 12 there.

Now excuse me while I go cut some labels out.....

Of course, I went to see your album immediately, Sara. Great pictures! Love the one of Samantha - what a face she puts on!! LOL! Mickey looks like a real cutie. :)

What a fantastic scenery in the area, and that hunting lodge!! Wow! It would be perfect for a PT get together. I take it "The two bridges" is a typical pub - so cosy. :)

Love your garden, Karen, lots of space to relax in the sun - when it's out! ;)
