Looks a great place. I'd love to be able to see live koalas. Such cuddly looking things.

I'm still not convinced that the white thing is a penguin! :D

We have a large number of koalas around where we live and I can assure you that they are not cute and cuddly, not the wild ones anyway! One of the almost resident koalas in the trees nearby makes the most disgusting grunting noises all night, kind of reminds me of someone else! :)

Just had a look, that's the weirdest penguin I have ever seen (even for an Australian bird)!!! :D

Lovely photos Michelle :D. We are hopefully going to the Australia/ian Zoo (The Steve Irwin Zoo  ) when we are up in Queensland in 6 weeks time. I have not been to Healsville yet, but hopefully we will get there one day.

When Tinny went missing out at Daylesford we came across quite a few Kangaroo's and Koala's when treking through the bush looking for her. One big Roo spent a good 10 minutes watching us, probably wondering why us crazy hoomans were out so early in the bush ;).

:D Trev we are trying to con them into letting us put on a few Flyball demo's there, even if it is out in the carpark :p.

They are beautiful! I love the koalas and Max the wombat is adorable! I wish I could hug and kiss every one! (Though that might not be the best of ideas. :D )

It'a pelican, not a penguin, silly!

Y'know,
"What a marvelous beast is the pelican
His beak holds more than his belly can!"

Oooohhh, I love the koalas and Max the wombat. I just want to squeeze them to pieces. Thank you so much for sharing these pictures. We don't get to see many of those cuties up here (certainly not wombats- what a treat :) ).

Australia has really special animals, only living in Australia! We visited a great sanctuary near Sydney, on the way to the Blue Mountains. I loved the wallaby's, and we were allowed to pet them!! My son also had his pic taken with a koala in his arms!!

I am convinced that koalas are just tree-dwelling cats: eat, sleep, make noise, shed fur, sleep, eat, sleep, eat, make noise, shed fur, sleep :p :D.

Oh gosh! I almost missed these. Thanks for posting the pics, Michelle. They are great. I love seeing the different animals. I wish I could have been right there with ya while you were taking the pics. Its about time you posted these, Michelle;). Now how about some spottie pics, girlfriend ;) :p .

Rhi, thanks for posting the Kookaburras also. Great pics and it makes me think of a song we use to sing when I was little. Somthing like "Kookaburra sits in the ol' Gum Tree". I don't know..lol..maybe I'm making that up..lol :o . It just popped in my head.

Robin,

THAT is a song .... you didn't make it up.!!! :D
Kookaburra (http://www.niehs.nih.gov/kids/lyrics/kookaburra.htm)

Rhi, I went to Port Stephens awhile ago, and there were Kookaburra's there exactly the same - relatively tame ...... but still to be avoiding (that beak is painful!!!)

So glad you liked the pics - now Anna and Robin - about that visit????? :D

^ I was wondering what the real lyrics were because all I could remember was ...

Kookaburra sits on the electric wire
Jumping up and down with his pants on fire
Laugh, kookaburra, laugh
How gay your life must be

:o
