So, please come for a visit and see the nursery. Sorry if there are a lot of photos. :o

Kim and Ashley, that is fantastic! You guys are WAY better than the television shows where they re-do rooms in 48 hours. You deserve an award for such an adorable nursery, one any baby would be blessed to call his/her own!

Now, come on baby!

Actually, yes I do. I'm an interior designer. Does it show? ;)

The whole room cost $250 to do, including the new crib and all of Ashley's bedding -- those two took up the majority of cost. We were talking last night and wished we kept the reciepts to prove it. Most everything was something we already had and was repainted/reupholstered.

WOOOOOOWWWWOOOOOOOWWWWOOOOOOOOWWWWWW

That room is FANTASTIC! I am very impressed. You could give the designers on Trading Spaces a run for their money! I cannot believe you were able to do all that for under $300.00!

Great job! And it will look even better once there is a baby sleeping in the crib!

I love the fact that it didn't take that long to do :) but now what am i going to do for the next two months...The good/bad thing is that I only have a month left of school so I have a month of homework left if that because I'm a head of my classes that will take a little of my time during the day and working as much as I can. I will have to find somthing around the house to do to keep my self busy. I wanted to clean our basement (I know sounds crazy a teenager that wants to clean  ) but kim wont let me because of the dust and some lifting

What a beautiful nursery!!! And it cost so little and looks so beautiful. And it looks normal - you SHOULD be on Trading Spaces. You could show them you don't have to use cardboard, sandpaper or any of the other weird things especially Hildie comes up with to make a room beautiful and still cost little. Again what an amazing job!!!

It's spectacular!!!!!!! And I get to see it in person on Monday :p

I already saw the "microwave cart" and let me tell you, no one, and I mean NO ONE would ever know that is what it used to be. It's PURR-fect!

And the crib is LOVELY!!!!

Well, Ashley, if Kim won't let you clean YOUR basement, I have a messy one that has absolutely NO dust and all the junk is light weight.........ROTFLOL :D

Ordinarily I'd love to have someone clean my basement, but its moldy and musky down there. No way!

Jen, you're such a sweetheart offering your basement like that. Such a selfless friend :D :p

You all should write to Trading Spaces about me. I could whip Hildy into shape! ;) Think they'd take a young grandma and make her a star?

Oh, talking about being a young grandma, a customer suggested a name for me last night: "Grand Diva". LOLOLOLOLOLOL.... the scary thing was that she was SERIOUS. Ummm, I think I'll pass on that wonderful name and stick with "grandma" for the time being.

Ashley, I missed your first posting! Welcome to pettalk, we all feel like we know you and your little one and we are so happy for you.

Take it from someone who it took 9 years to have a baby so I am an older mom by some standards, you will have more energy than I do! I wish you an easy labor and many joys of being a mother. I am so happy you have a supportive step mom and a supportive Dad, give your Dad a big hug from me okay?

Take care of yourself and finish up that homework, I am glad your school year is almost over.

Big hugs!

that's gorgeous! i love the baskets. i know a friend of mine who didn't like her ceiling, and, she bought material and used thumbtacks to lightly drape material covering the ceiling. in case you wanted to cover it completely, that is. i don't think it looks bad, though, and, i think the stars are great!
