Greetings PT'ers,

I've noticed on a number of posts and while viewing Public Profiles that we seem to have a LOT of artists (Commercial Artists, Photographers, Painters, Jewelry Makers, etc.) as members. Just wondering who all is a member of this Guild.

Give us your name, home and a sample of your artwork (if you have one readily available). I will start by adding my name:

Dan Yazvac, Pittsburgh PA
Commercial Artist, Retoucher
Sample Coming (I am sooo bad, all the artwork I've done and you would think I would have some scanned in??? - if interested you can see some of my retouching at www.daygraphics.net)

Wow you're good ^__^.
I'm not really anything, but I guess if all else failed in vet school I might pursue a photography career.
Here's a photo or 2...

Yes, I sketch. For pleasure, not for profit!!! I've done a couple for some PTers, and I'll be posting some more soon that I've been working on. As I have a lot of homework during schooltime, I can only really spare time for them during the holidays:o But I've attatched some I did ages ago:) I'm getting a lot better at sketching since I've been doing it for PT, so THANKYOU everyone!:D

Miss Z,

14 years old - am I correct?

For a young lady of your age - some very nice stuff. Keep up the good work nd continue to develop your rendering style. You may have a career in it!!!

You are correct, and thank you:) I enjoy sketching, especially horses. Career? Probably not, unless I fail in vet training:rolleyes: But I will always sketch when I get the time.

I'm actually not pursuing art as a subject now. In the UK, at 14 we chose what subjects we wish to continue for GCSEs and which to drop. You have to have 10 subjects, but 7 of them are pretty much decided for you (like maths, English, a language etc), leaving you with 3 to chose, out of about 10. It was very difficult for me to chose my subjects, but in the end I chose history, Latin and German, as I enjoy them very much and it gives me a good variety against the compulsory subjects. Now my art teacher won't stop telling me why I should have taken art, how useful it would be, why I need it blah blah blaaaah. It's unlike me to end a sentence with 'blah blah blah', but all the nagging is annoying me. Apart from sketching and other still life artwork, I actually dislike art. Expressionism and all that does not interest me one bit, I even did a homework on how much I despise the work of Mark Rothko. Most of the GCSE syllabus is on all that stuff, so I would hate it. I have a term left before I finish art, but I fear that I'll be bored out of my mind, as we're doing subjective art, which is art 'from the mind'. I suppose my art teacher thinks I'm insane to stop taking art. But I know what I'm doing;) and of course will always sketch for PT!

Ehhh, I'm sort of an artist. I'm just starting out in digital art, but I've been doing photography and photo manipulations for a while now ^^ Here's a recent drawing of a sheltie:

I don't have much of my art scanned in, since our scanner died on us about a year ago, but I have some.
I mainly just sketch a bit, take photography, write poetry, and have designed a few websites.
My photography isn't that great, so I won't bother posting it... I have a horrid camera and its hard to work with, but I do my best.

A very roughly-drawn/colored picture of a random beagle I did in '05. I never completely finished it, as you can obviously tell by some messy lines and lousey/lack of shading.

And here is just an unfinished sketch I did for my dad in '05 (he's a dragon fanatic)... I tend to find myself getting distracted or uninterested and never finishing some of my drawings.

your mention of poems reminded me that my dad is a published poet lol he has a poem in the finals of a poetry compition, the grand prize being 10 grand USD

he sent it to me, its pretty good lol

The Secret of the Poem

Why a poem?
Why the need to rhyme?
Why this need to share a thought
to share ones heart
to open ones soul?
To be or not be
the questions have been asked
But answers they are few
and truth is usually last
So why a poem?
To seek the truth
And why a rhyme?
To find the rhythm of the heart
To open the heart
lay bare the soul
To find ones self
The secret of the Poem
