Remember Boomer? He is my daughter Missy's kitty - when Missy and Tyler came to live with us this fall while her hubby was in Iraq - many PT folks helped to arrange Boomer's flight from Japan to America. Missy and Tyler returned to Japan in February, and Boomer will be our foster kitty until they all return to America next fall.

Boomer has taken quite awhile to really become comfortable with the Sirrahkitties and I know he will prefer being an "only kitty" once again - but he is a happy cat and we enjoy having him with us!

I thought you might enjoy seeing some pictures of Boomer....so handsome!!

Cozy kitty...

Though Boomer usually does not like men, he has warmed up to Sirrahned - loves having his chin and belly rubbed...

he is so photogenic I think...

Thanks for the update - I think Boomer is so cool. In the one picture up there, is Elliot about to charge the Boomer?

It's good to see Boomer again. I was just thinking about him earlier today. I'm also very impressed that you got all 6 in the same picture. :)

There he is! Hey, Boomer!! You are looking good! It's nice to see you again at your grandmeowmie's with all your fursibs.

You are handsome as ever and I'm glad you are feeling more comfortable with the crowd AND getting a good share of 'nip!

The first picture reminds me of the photo shot when your plane finally landed in the USA; all I could see was a pair of big green eyes!

Don't be a stranger, now!

uh...Yes, shortly after I snapped the picture, Eliot made a leap and then Lizzie joined in and they all raced through the house - now that you asked, I can also see that Lizzie is starting to get the same idea. The way Boomer loves to play is the stalk and pounce and they play this especially late at night. See how big Boomer is? The sound of him racing through the house sounds like what we call a herd of turtles.

Good eye, Grace!! :D :D

You know, when I was making this Boomer post and looked at that picture, his big eyes also reminded me of picking him up at the airport. Poor baby had been in the cage for - I think it was 30 hours. I had thought Boomer looked so scared but now I think that is just his expression - always alert and not missing anything :) That picture of Boomer in the cage was my fist glimpse of Boomer - I was sitting in the office of the freight department and talking on the phone with Phred (Cinder & Smoke) - one of the guys had driven over to pick Boomer up from the terminal...and walked in with the cage and those big ole eyes were all I could see through the grate....what an adventure THAT was!!!

Now Debbie, how could we forget Boomer. :D

He is such a handsome tabby. I glad to see he is enjoying his stay with you guys.

I love the picture with all 6 cats and I also noticed Elliot ready to make an attack on Boomer. I thought, "Oh oh, looks like Boomer is going to get pounced on." :)

Oh how I remember that picture of Boomer in the cage after his l-o-n-g trip.
Poor baby looked so scared wondering what the heck was going on. It was such a relief that he made it to you without any complications. That was some trip that we followed.

YES!!! THAT picture!

I will never forget that saga; all of us checking in on Boomer as he winged his way to the states, posting bulletins and maps pointing to where he was at a given hour. Everyone was so excited (and a little apprehensive) about that long journey, but Boomer came through like a seasoned traveler.

It was just such a relief when he landed safely and you took that picture to show us.

Boomer, you are our hero!!

WOW! I did a search and went back to read Boomer: World Traveler 9/14/05 (http://petoftheday.com/talk/showthread.php?t=87707&page=5&pp=40&highlight=boomer) and what fun it was to read and remember that day!! It seemed to go on forever.

My daughter Missy lives in Japan with her hubby - he was deployed to Iraq and Boomer was flying here to America. The thread follows his day (about 30 hours  in the air. I was soooo nervous, Missy was even more nervous I think - she had to make the drive to Tokyo for the first time driving - to take Boomer to the Narita airport. In the meantime, we are both trying to stay somewhat in touch but it gets complicated because her time is 13 hours ahead.

That thread brings back all the excitement of that day. Folks here followed along and supported all of us. Phred made phonecalls to help us find info and posted about his progress all along the way and kept in touch with us too. Other folks did too, posting maps of the actual flight, gave weather reports, location reports and the like :D Many folks posted updates as Boomer flew over the ocean, across Cananda, Michigan and to New Jersey. Then he had another flight from Newark to here in Ohio. Hubby and I drove late that night to Columbus which is about an hour or so away.

I remember how exciting it was to read the posts here and know that others were excited with me. Some folks even dreamed about Boomer, were sooo nervous with us, posted cute flight graphics and even talked about him when they were at work :D All of that support really was amazing to me...I spent so much time here on the computer that day!!!

Thank you everyone!! What a day that was!!! :D :D
