Many of my dogs have an aversion to getting their paws wet, which this time of year is very difficult. The snow is slushy by mid-day and mud/puddles are more common every day!

This is why we never eat at our picnic table! The wound on Earle's leg is self-inflicted. It looks awful, but it's actually healing!

Poor bored Earle!

Everyone likes this ugly blue doghouse, I think because it's closest to the front door! Pingo is always on a doghouse roof, even when it's -30C outside, she's on the roof!

Paxil singing her "let me in" song. She has adapted very well to being a house dog and would like to spend as much time inside as possible!

Hobo lounging on the same house. This was after his "magic door opening" bark had failed. When he was recovering from the wolf attack, he could only stand for a few minutes at a time. When he got tired, if I wasn't outside with him, he would stand in front of the door and bark three times. He still expects that bark will magically open the door whenever he wants in!

Hobo trying out a different dog house. They like the overhanging roof on this one!

Sundin waiting for me to go away before he gets too comfy.

After a little while, he accepts that he's stuck with me and relaxes. He gets neutered tomorrow. He may not relax so easy after that!

Mac is not a fan of doghouse roofs, but he is a fan of the patio table! This dog cracks me up! He's quite a character now that he's come out of his shell!

I love your crew! May I ask you something? How come Huskies are always sitting, laying, or standing on their dog houses? Is it like... natural or something? :o

It's a very common husky trait. They like to keep a close eye on their territory. That's easier from higher up. We have a three tiered tower in Raven's pen that is very popular. It's about 8 feet high on the top level.

Being on the roof also keeps them dry. Most sled dogs don't like to be wet. In cold temperatures, a wet dog is in danger.

Loved the bored Earl picture! And Paxil and Hobo made me laugh with their door opening vocalizations. Your furkids always make me smile. :)

Uh, good luck, Sundin! He looks very handsome on top of the house. Great pics. it's great, I'm getting so that I can recognize all your dogs before I read the captions! I love the howling pic of Paxil, too, wish we had sound.
(I noticed Earle's paws, too, & I thought "just like Sherman!" Star's aren't quite as furred)

Man, I suck! As you post pictures and put the captions on the bottom, I try and play the "Guess Glacier's doggies' names." I didn't get *ONE* right.

I love your pups, but I couldn't tell Mac from Franklin from Paxil from Founder.

I'm going to study the thread with all of your doggies now. :o

Great pics as usual.

Oh, that's so funny that a couple people noticed the toe fur--I trimmed it off a couple days ago so he wouldn't track quite so much mud in the house!

There might be this year! We've had 6 inches so far today and it's still coming down!

The snow is gone by mid-May usually. The ice is off the smaller lakes by then as well.
