Today when I got home my son showed me a dead dog laying beside the highway. He said he jumped the fence quick to see if it was still alive but it wasnt. I called the Humane Society. They asked if it was a Yellow Lab, i said, I think it is. Somebody had called and reported a Yellow Lab missing.
She asked if the collar was green, i did not know, i asked my son, he said yes. :( The Humane Society said they would call the people who are missing their dog (about a mile from my home in the country) and they would come to look at it. First the HS came, and the owners were behind in their car. I looked over, saw this woman crying and crying, i walked over to her, i started crying. She said she didnt know why he went so far away from home. I told her, I know its not a good time, but i would like to offer you one of my pups for free. She didnt take one. It was so sad so very sad.
I came inside and hugged all my dogs. Hug your dogs tonight, you never know when they will be gone.

Very sad for everyone. It was nice of you to offer her a pup, but she is, I am sure, just in shock right now. But she'll remember your gesture, anyway.

That's soooooo sad :( I almost lost my dog i had to chase him for a little while but eventually got him back. That was nice for you to offer the puppy, i think i would have taken the puppy because i wouln't be able to handle not having a dog at home so it would be comforting to have a dog there.

Thats sad. :( My neighbor lost their dog a few months ago when she got loose and got hit by a car. I miss her so much.
Its nice that you offered a puppy. Honestly, I probably wouldn't take a new pup right away, either. Maybe she'll come back in a week or so and take you up on that offer.

Poor dog. Did the people who hit the dog even stop? It's against the law to not report hitting a dog (at least in NH). I would DIE if I hit a dog or cat. I've run over a squirrel and I ran over an otter once. I bawled my eyes out. I still think of it to this day and I feel like a murderer. I came very close to hitting a cat once and slammed my brakes. Luckily, nobody was behind me and Fenway wasn't in the car, or he'd gone flying.

It was nice of you to offer a puppy to this woman. Perhaps once she's over the pain, she may take you up on the offer.
