I've always wanted a snake. Best of luck!

As for a name hmmmm 'big baller', 'balls', or maybe 'Baltic'

I suggest you name it Spot. :) My friend had a BP named Spot for a long time, though he recently passed away. :(

Congradulations! :)
I might be getting my first snake over summer break (probably a cornsnake, I hear they're good beginners).
Ball Pythons are really beautiful... name suggestions... well... maybe Damian? Adrian? I'm not too great with names, so good luck finding a name that suits him! :D

That's awesome! My ball python's name is 'One Day'. (I know, it's an odd name. I didn't name him.)

Corn snakes are wonderful beginner snakes. My first snake was my snow corn snake, Flick.
Ball Pythons are certainly not beginner snakes. Though they generally have a very sweet and gentle disposition they are also rather finicky snakes.

Chilli: please make sure you get a real cornsnake and not a ratsnake or hybrid...Ratsnakes and hybrids are fantastic snakes but not for a first-time-snake...

Reptiledude: Congrats on your new snake. I have a BP myself and it's name is Jerash...

May I suggest this link ;) :

Thanks for the heads-up! :D Thankfully we have a very good place about an hour away that specializes mainly in snakes, so it shouldn't be a problem. :)

I will be getting my first snake this year also and she will be a corn; hopefully a bloodred. I care for a black rat snake at a museum and he is a wonderful snake and easy to care/handle. I have also read that kingsnakes make a good first snake.
