I do not have cancer. BUT they want to remove the mass anyway, my doctor is scheduling me with a surgeon.

Thanks everyone for your well wishes and good thoughts thru the last 5 weeks.

Wonderful! You must have felt light-headed with relief. I know when I come out of the doctor's with an all-clear, I feel about 10 years younger and as though I have springs under my shoes. Can you give yourself a little treat to celebrate? I do, but then I'm always looking for an excuse to treat myself.

Let us know when the surgery is scheduled so we can write in and wish you luck. Do you know how long you will be in the hospital?

Terrific news! Best to have it out anyway - that way there will be nothing there to worry about. Good luck with the surgery (it's a simple procedure; been there, done that, proudly wear the scars).

I'm sorry you have to undergo the surgery, but it will be better than to have any regrets later. The news of the biopsy results is fantastic. That concern had to be so stressful.

Thanks everyone, I thought I should provide an update now that I know more about my "mass". Of the 3 kinds of benign things I could have, I have the worst. I am a stones throw away from having cancer. The future prognosis, according to what I've been reading is not real exciting either. The chances of me getting breast cancer in the next 15 years is 19 out of 100. Still waiting on an appointment with the surgeon.

But now you know to watch for it.

I will have my first appointment with the surgeon on Tuesday, April 11 at 11:20 am. Much faster than I thought it would be. :)

I wonder if they will suggest one of those preventative drugs.
