I took our foster dog Buddy to the emergency vet clinic last night. He was neutered yesterday afternoon, and when I picked him up he was still very groggy from the anesthesia. I don't know why they didn't watch him at the vet for a while! But anyway, I took him home and for the first few hours he was ok but groggy still.

But then last night he had a seizure and became extremely lethargic so I took him into the emergency clinic where he stayed over night with an IV. I was so worried about him! They don't really know what caused the seizure- he could have an underlying condition, we don't know. I just called the clinic and he is doing ok right now, so I'm very glad for that. I have to go to work pretty soon, so Eric (my husband) is going to call to later this morning after the vet checks him out to see if Buddy can come home. I was just wondering if anyone could spare some thoughts for Buddy today, the poor guy had a VERY hard day yesterday!

Prayers on their way for Buddy. Thanks for being a foster to the pup! You know that without you, they would have no chance! Hope he is better quickly.

Thanks everyone! Buddy got to come home around 11:30 this morning, and he's doing much better. You would never guess what he went through yesterday, he's as perky as ever today. :) They still don't know what caused the seizure, but it's possible that it was a reaction to the anesthesia. He's chewing a big bone right now, he deserves it for all he went through yesterday! Thanks again for your good thoughts. :)

I am so glad he's feeling better now.Maybe the Dr.should put a note
about this reaction in his file for any future visits. Hugs to the little guy.

I am glad to hear that Buddy is home and doing fine. That was a scare. That is a good point Lizbud, you may want to have a note put on his records that he may have had a reaction to that anethesia. Enjoy your bone, Buddy boy. :)

-_- that'd be disgusting if they never removed the stitches... but, it could also just be sutures in there, which is normal after spays. Our chi girl had a line of little bumps from sutures.

Oh, Buddy! I'm glad you're better, poor guy. Don't ever scare your (Foster?) Mom and Dad like that again!

Yes he is still our foster until they approve the adoption. They want us to adopt him, I think they just need to talk with our landlord. If they are lucky, he will call them back in 3 weeks. We called our landlord several times about this and all we got back was a message he'll call us back again...it's frustrating!!

Thanks again everyone for sending good thoughts to Buddy. He's still doing well. I can't wait until our adoption is final and then I can share some pictures of our new dog! :p
