Today, my sweet baby turns 3 months old! I can't believe how quickly time flies. It seems like just yesterday, I was at the hospital begging them to take him out of me. And here he is, large as life and my everything.

As I've done the last 2 months, I'd like to share some pictures of him.

Making a funny face. I made a noise to get him to smile and this is what I got.

Maggy still gets jealous, so she wanted to pose too.

Thank you, everyone, for your kind comments. He really is a happy baby.

Funny story. I went to visit a friend of mine who has a baby 6 days younger than Hugito. I noticed that when her baby cries, he has tears streaming down his face. I'd never noticed that with Hugo. I asked his pediatrician about it. She immediately took blood from him, and referred me to a pediatric opthamologist. She had me terrified! She was checking for connective tissue disorders, etc. Once the opthamologist saw him, she looked at us like we were crazy and asked why we thought he didn't have tears. Her diagnosis? A happy baby doesn't cry, therefore no tears! He didn't even cry when they drew blood! He cooed at the doc!

Oh Debby, he is so adorable! I have always admired his picture on your posts, but these last ones are so sweet! He has the dimples that will have women cooing over him for years to come!

I love the story about the tears! As I was reading it, I was thinking, I bet he rarely cries! And that is what you found out! I have always thought that babies that are laid back and easygoing (as Hugito seems to be) are the result of parents who are not overbearing and who are relaxed and confident in their abilities to be parents! So, cudos to you and your husband for being such wonderful parents and creating such a cutie patootie! ;)

What a handsome guy.

Re: the tears. Aidan *just* started to produce enough tears when he cries to have his eyes appear watery and maybe *a* tear go down his cheek. Babies' tear ducts aren't fully operational for quite awhile after birth - why your pediatrician didn't know/say this is beyond me. It's only an issue if there are no tears (no watery eyes) after the first YEAR - and the reason behind it then is usually just a clogged duct that YOU can fix yourself with warm compresses and certain massages! It sucks your doctor scared you!!

That's what I thought too! His eyes aren't dry, he just didn't have tears. It's more unsual that my friend's son had so many tears rather than Hugito not having any.
