I don't know if this has been brought up before, but I am curious if anyone else here is double jointed in any area of your body. Photos are optional. :D

Here is my son Eric who is double jointed in his thumbs.

Straight first.
He was on his way out, that's why he has on sunglasses for those who were wondering why he had them on in the house. LOL!!!

I could be double jointed in my hip joints. I don't know if I really am, or whether it's possible, but some people have told me I am. I can bend my leg, twist it and then hold it under my armpit. I can also get my leg to go straight all the way up my back, then bend my knee so my foot touches my head. I don't think that is being double-jointed though, but it's weird anyway:rolleyes:

I would definitely say that you are double jointed Miss Z. There is no question about it. :)

It always amazes me when people can contort their bodies in certain ways. I have to be honest though, that sometimes it gives me the heebie jeebies to see certain things that some people can do.

I wouldn't even be able to attempt what you described.

My two older sibling are double jointed on a couple fingers on each hand, and always made fun of me because I am not. They'd just bend that top joint over by itself on both hands and look at me and say "What do you mean you can't do this? Everyone can!"

My thumbs are the same as your sons and my ring finger on both hands do the same thing.

Yes, my thumbs are like that as well. I can also bend just the top joints of my fingers.

My fingers are, I guess, the top part of them can bend. My sisters boyfriend is definently double jointed. He can pop his arm out of his shoulder (kinda hard to explain, but its REALLY gross) and it looks as if it's been dislocated. All that is holding it is the skin and stuff (or at least that's how it looks).

I did some googling myself Debbie on this subject. I will have to check out that quiz that you posted.

A dictionary definition of double-jointedness makes it clear: it is " having unusually flexible joints that can bend in unusual ways or to abnormally great extent."

Many people have a finger or arm that they can bend in an unusual way. This is quite common.

I didn't know that this was quite common. Oh well, I guess I will have to tell my son that he is just common. LOL!!!! :D

This is what my sister can do also.

This is my result from the Quiz Debbie.

If you can do three contortions, you're...

Kind of flexible! You're not exactly a human pretzel, but you're limber!

EWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW
the pictures that Rg_girlca posted creepted me out. LOL

i think my brother and i are double joined in our mindle fingers.
we can hold our hands up so it looks like were going to 'give you five'
and move our middle finger back and forth without moving our hand or the
rest of our fingers... kinda hard to describ... i can only do it with my left hand.
i think my brother can do it with both his hands. and i can curel all my fingers up really tight
and make my hand look kinda like a dog paw or bear paw

and my dad can keep all his fingers steright,, and bend the tips of them of some of them.

I don't know if this is even possible, but I think that I am double jointed in my back. I can lay on my stomach on the floor, bend back and have my feet touching my head. No hands!

Well, I read that there is no such thing as being Double-Jointed... it's just some people have more flexible joints than other people:)

But I can do this with my finger...

I could do all five things on that quiz sirrahbed posted. Does that mean I'm double jointed in my fingers too? It told me that I was super flexible!:p

I can kind of do that too, but I do have a spine that curves inwards quite a lot. I can bend backwards at a 90 degree angle no problem, but don't think I can go 180 degrees like you can:eek:
