You are all influencing me to get a betta, so I was wondering if you all (who have betta's) could post a pic of your tanks...? I've heard that some people just leave there tanks (no light) and some have a light (i think its for heat?) I've had betta's before, and they lived a long time, but I want to make sure I know everything before getting one. Thanks! :D

I don't have any pictures of Fuse or Akela's tank right now, but I'll post as soon as I get some.

Here's Kale's tank, it's a 5 gallon, by.. aquaview? anyway, there's one less fake plant and one more live one in there now. He looves it.

Ok, my tank isnt the best for a betta, but it works until I can afford the 2.5 gallon I want.

I don't have a picture at this moment, but I have a 5 gallon mini bow. It's just like Kara's above. I have a heater in it too, but I haven't been using it. I didn't like the way Drew acted with it and I'm afraid to use it with Typhoon. The tank stays pretty warm with just the light, but my Dad keeps our house pretty warm too.

How warm should the water be for them?

If I'm not mistaken, it's 70-72 degrees.

Yes but most don't even use heaters in them (well some don't, not most) and they do fine at room temperature

*nod* I don't use a heater on Sebastian's tank, and he does great. Oh, and another thing, make sure you get a tank with a lid, and if you happened to get one with a filter, I heard bettas don't like strong currents.

I don't have a pic of Xambi's tank, but I can get one after my family gets home tonight. It is a 2.5 gallon tank, with a couple of fake plants and a filter. He seems to not mind the filter, and I have one that is set up for a small tank (it can be adjusted for larger and smaller tanks) One thing that I have heard about filters, is that their fins can get stuck in them and cause damage, so I put a clean nylon(sp?) over mine. It seems to work well with Xambi...

I completely rearranged Kale's 5 gallon tank. Now it has two live plants, a terra cotta pot, a medium-sized piece of driftwood, a 50w heater turned to about 72 (since it's a bit powerful for a 5 gallon) and a whisper mini-filter. I usually just pull the cartrige up a little bit to make the current lighter.
