Kater requested some pictures of my torts.

Here is Timmy, he's almost outgrown his tunnel.

Now for the 'twins', Split and Spot. They have developed such different personalities. Split loves to eat, he's quite the pig. He also loves to sleep in his cave. Spot on the other hand prefers to sleep where it's warmest. Spot is always on the go and doesn't stop to eat near as much as Split. They're almost complete opposites.

Here is Split

and here is Spot.

Oh I want a tortoise SO bad!!

I had turtles a year or so ago but they outgrew their tank (and my paycheck, unfortunately!) so I gave them to someone who had been keeping turtles his whole life and knew they were going to a good home!

Are they any tortoises you recommend for.. well, not a BEGINNGER, but not an expert, either :)

They are so gorgeous, Kari. I got a kick out of the cactus treat!! :)
Timmy is the largest, right? Are they all sulcatas? If so, I have never seen such young ones - Split and Spot are too cute!

This is Goliath from the sanctuary:

He was overfed a high-protein diet (by some idiot!) during his early years and now exceeds 200 lbs. He is at least 3x as large as another resident sulcata, Sampson, who is around twice his age. Sampson is normal-sized. The same idiot also had another sulcata, David, and he is around 150 lbs. At least they are all safe and happy now. :) Look at the healthy shell growth! :D

Jessika, I would not recommend sulcatas for your experience level and climate. However, I don't really have any alternate suggestions. Do you have a reptile/exotics vet nearby? That is something to consider as well.

Thanks again for sharing, Kari. Give them all some green treats from Auntie Kate! ;)
